Nobody saw this is anything other than it was. It was deliberate set-up to co-opt the page into setting up Foley so that A) they could have a scandal and B) steal his seat in Congress from the Republicans. They similarly had the Majority Leader Tom DeLay indicted on charges that will never come to trial for the same reason. Democrats are invested in getting their hands on the Grand Prize. NOT the White House. The US Treasury.

"Foley himself was the only person who could release the computers for review, but he had refused. It was not immediately clear what information from the computers investigators had been able to review — if any — before concluding their investigation."

Foley never broke any laws. That is now clear. But he did resign.

That's the complete opposite of William Jefferson, who is already under indictment.

So will all of these law enforcement authorities at the federal level now concentrate on William Jefferson, of Louisiana, whose investigation has virtually come to an abrupt halt since the Democrats gained control of Congress two years ago.

Tell us about William Jefferson, Democrat of Louisiana. Why has the investigation of his corruption charges come to a complete halt since the Democrats gained control of Congress?

Oh, also, check on the definition, legal and otherwise, of "pedophile" . You will find you are completely, 100% wrong about Foley, irrespective of your homophobia about gay men who prefer younger gay men - you know, the heterosexual equivalent of Bill Clinton. But Foley never lied, particularly under oath.

Amazing, a citizen sends messages to someone underage and gets sent to jail, a US Rep does it and gets away with refusing to cooperate with the investigators, can hide his criminal activities, and doesn't go to jail. What a load. Just shows the fact that the 'royalty' that is the republicrats in DC is just as crooked as we've been shown...

It just occurred to me,I wonder what their plan B is if plan A fails to get the seat?Suppose it's already in the pudding?Like they say in stock market. It will make some more interesting highlights in the next administration if that is so,and not just some half baked idea of mine.

Sticking up for a pedophile makes you just as sick as he is. Now go pray, Republican. Try not to stick it in anyone's corn hole on your way to church.

Clintons, Charlie (NY congressman, Reed and others. If it is a democrat, it's OKAY. If it is a republican he/she must resign and go home. I don't support any kind of illegal activities no matter which party it is. Double standard by politicians and news media

Yeah, but Bubba is'nt a pipe smoker either.
As far as Jefferson,$10K in a freezer was an entrapment, small potatoes. Rerublican Senator Stevens from Alaska, now that's a BIG FISH.
A SCHNOOK, Republicans always do graft and corruption on a large scale. Home of Sarah (Michael) Palin I would add, does the name Thomas Eagleton ring a bell? Her 15 minutes of VP fame is counting down rather quickly.

"Foley's attorney, David Roth, has acknowledged that Foley sent the messages to the teenagers, but has maintained that the Florida Republican never had inappropriate contact with minors."

He would have if he had the chance. Someone needs to call "To Catch a Predator". With gay guys like Foley trying to get boys through the computer, maybe we could then lock him up.
