Hmmm well technically he was in his car which is protected by most Castile doctrine laws. If he had been drinking then he violates the law by discharging a firearm under the influence. Also there is a little phrase in most self defense laws that says if the shooter provoked the attack in any way then he is not protected under the self defense clause.

Will be interesting how this pans out.
