Apparently, Connecticut's polititians have zero drag in DC where the administration's people reward friendly States with more local military programs. Connecticut will be the only State without a military fixed wing operation. No problem for us; its easy to get to bases in Mass that have equipment. But it is kind of embaressing for CT's polititians.

Rinnnggg Rinnnggg Rinnnggg!!! "Good Morning, Rob Fitsimmons Office".... "Uh hello, Joe Courtney for Mr. Fitsimmons". "Hold the line please!" "Rob Fitsimmons here". "Yes, this is Joe Courtney, I need your help saving a Military Base again! Now how do you go about doing that? I've been wasting my time on the Eight Mile River Watershed Project and haven't kept up with my Pentagon contacts...I really need your help Mr. Fitsimmons!"

I wonder where CT is heading. The military is slowly leaving the state. The Navy tried to close the Sub Base but the local politicians stopped it then. So now, the Navy is slowly transfering submarines out of Ct to other bases. Before we know it, it will be hard to save a sub base that has no submarines stationes at it.

That's what CT gets for putting NO additinal money into any military project. If CT told the DOD IT would pay for more, the bases and a/c would stay.
Why not

after all its only the tax payers money and the state of CT has a surplus of that and no intention of lowering any taxes like the pptax on autos.

Just like New Milford is gonna spend 3.75 mil for something that Danbury only paid 1.2 mil for.

In CT, champagne tastesfar outweigh beer pocketbooks.

There was an uld toothpase commercial for Pepsodent that went "You'll wonder where the yellow went when you brush your teeth with Pepsodent". Well in CT, the words should be "You'll wonder where your money went when it's in the hands of CT government"

In 1985 The Marine detachment left the sub base, the state did nothing then a few subs left state did nothing, then state pier close Uss fulton left state did not but was happy to have piers rebuilt by navy and back in there hands, all and all the state could really give a damn about the base because they never did anything about it in the past, and boys and girls the base is going to close, really it is because I go there and nothing is being done other than a good front being put up by a bunch of people who are going to say we tryed, but remember the land thats there and the gleamming eyes of the rich ohhhhh the money someone can make.
