Rep M Bordallo (Auntie),

I served in the Army for 30+ years and this proposal to allow servicemembers with families to ship an additional POV has been long time coming and needed. During my tenor in the army I experience this type of situation first hand. As a young private and married I was barely making ends meet that my spouse had to seek employment. This became a problem because of our work schedule and needed to buy another car. After a lot of sacrifices we finally did purchase another car. Soon I was on order to go overseas and had to sell one of the car because we weren't authorized to ship a second POV. We had to take a big lost when we sold the car and when we arrived to our new duty station overseas we had start all over. Ma'am, I have seen numerous situation like ours with other servicemembers and I am very disappointed that it took this long for someone to noticed that this is a financial burden to our servicemembers. I have addressed this concern many times and it seem that I was talking to individuals with death ears. I even asked why is it different for two servicember married to be authorized each to ship a POV but not the married servicemember with civilian spouses?? I applaud you for your concern and contribution.
