Mar 30, 2012 Full story: Seattle Post-Intelligencer 23

As an American Citizen living in So. Cal., I see the damage and effects of the invasion eachday, yet this la raza pandering Pres. and his Admin. do more to circumvent our nations laws. WE as Americans must do everything we can do to unseat this la raza supporter. He has done more than enough damage and I hope that his mess will be overturned and the PC gloves will be taken off. Time to get tough instead of pandering..

More amnesty from the mexico-firster in our WH. Does rule of law mean anything anymore.?

Our policy should be to deport all captured illegals - no exceptions.

Obama panders to illegal aliens while discriminating against citizens and legal resident aliens. He's despicable and should not be the President of this country. He should just move to Mexico and get it over with.

Part of his plan for the destruction of America due to his hatred of white people.

Let's not forget the Syrians he is giving legal status to. How many terrorists is he going to give the welcome sign to?

The issue here is obviously not economic as immigrants help out the US economy and give into the system a lot more than they take out. The issue is social, a lot of people do not like the fact that people are coming into town and changing the culture and language. Hell, there are more Spanish radio stations in San Diego than English ones.
A lot of the people on these posts are afraid to change either out of ignorance or bigotry. Historically borders were never any good at stoping human migration patterns , just look at Europe, India and us. The intelligent will learn how to adapt. In the words of Bob Dylan "you better learn how to swim or you'll sink like a stone for the times they are a changing"

Low/no educated people will ALWAYS take more than they will contribute, so you are wrong that they put more into the system than they take out. You really should research rather than just talking out the side of your mouth.

According to Nobel laureate economist Paul Krugman, "low-skilled immigrants do not earn enough money to cover the cost of government benefits they receive." In essence, businesses are making-out like bandits while U.S. taxpayers--whom they won't hire--pay for the government entitlements drawn by immigrants--legal and illegal.

The below figures are old, so I'm sure at this point, the per household cost is far higher.

Moreover, more than 25% of illegal immigrants lack the equivalent of a high school education, compared to 9% of American citizens. The Heritage Foundation found that low-skilled immigrants use far more dollars worth of government services than they pay in taxes. Further, the Foundation determined that the average low-skilled immigrant household costs the American taxpayer $19,588 per year.

In FY 2006, USDA spent nearly $5.1 billion to serve about 8.2 million WIC participants. Hispanics represent the largest racial/ethnic group in the WIC Program. In 2004, about 39 percent of those enrolled in WIC were of Hispanic origin. Approximately 3/4 of the Hispanic infants born in the United States participate in WIC.

(75% on govt. services shortly after being born....)

And since that figure is now 6 years old, the percent is likely higher by now. Any who are illegal collect benefits on behalf of their citizen "anchor" child.

Illegal Aliens Receive Billions in IRS Tax Benefits

On July 7, 2011, the U.S. Department of Treasury's inspector general for tax administration issued a startling report entitled "Individuals Who Are Not Authorized to Work in the United States Were Paid $4.2 Billion in Refundable Credits."

It is clear that unauthorized aliens are filing ITIN tax returns with fraudulent data. The Treasury report found that "One common type of fraudulent refund involves taxpayers fabricating a Wage and Tax Statement (Form W-2) that shows excess withholding and results in a tax refund."

The Internal Revenue Service has allowed some foreigners to improperly claim tax credits that will cost the government nearly $9 billion, according to a federal report scheduled to be released today.

The report by the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration, which was obtained by The Washington Post in advance of its release, criticizes the IRS for lax oversight of foreigners who use an alternative form of identification instead of a Social Security number. Many of the foreigners who use the code, known as an Individual Taxpayer Identification Number, are illegal immigrants, according to government officials and immigration experts.

The IRS has allowed companies who employ foreigners to file tax documents using this form of identification even though the law forbids it, the audit says. It said that 292,992 companies improperly reported wages totaling $9.5 billion in 2006 using those codes.

Illegal immigration imposes significant costs on public coffers. Whereas 14.8 percent of native households use at least one of the five major welfare programs, among households headed by an illegal alien from Mexico the figure is 24.9 percent. Illegal immigrants from Mexico primarily receive welfare benefits on behalf of their American-born children. Whether legal or illegal, immigrants from Mexico make heavy use of means-tested programs. One possible unintended consequence of legalizing Mexican illegals already in the country would be to substantially increase their use of means-tested programs.

Illegals from Mexico actually use such programs at higher rates than natives in many cases. Any guestworker program would bring in large numbers of immigrants from Mexico with very low skill levels and resulting low incomes. Their low incomes coupled with their children’s eligibility would mean very significant costs to taxpayers even if the guestworkers themselves are successfully barred from using such programs.

Source: Inter-American Development Bank, March 2006 report,“Remittance 2005”. Mexico remains the largest recipient of remittances, at over US$20 billion, followed by Brazil and Columbia which for the first time reached over US$6 and US$4 billion respectively. Central America and the Dominican Republic combined to reach over US$11 billion; and the Andean countries totaled almost US$9 billion.

As much as 50% of remittances are unreported. As published in the Development Prospect Group Briefing #3, "This amount only reflects transfers through official channels. Econometric analysis suggests that unrecorded flows through informal channels may add 50 percent or more to recorded flows. Including these unrecorded flows, the true size of remittances, is larger than foreign direct investment flows and more than twice as large as official aid received by developing countries."

1 December 2007: While President George W Bush and Congress battle for the last word on tax cuts and stake a claim on success in Iraq with FOX and CNN news pundits, even more so as election 2008 approaches, illegal immigrants and their legal counterparts continue to flood into the United States from the south. The annual cost to taxpayers is about $22 billion a year according to Center for Immigration Studies and the tax burden will grow -- because 15 million more immigrants are set to arrive by year 2017 according to their latest research.

More than 10 million immigrants have arrived since year 2000; it is estimated that nearly 6 million are illegal. All told, the group of immigrants now account for 38 million at the moment according to the White House's own census bureau.

The children of immigrants (illegal and legal) account for 1 in 5 students across the nation.

"One-fourth of those [live] in poverty and nearly one-third of those live without health insurance," according to the report: Immigrants in the United States 2007 - A Profile of Americas Foreign-Born Population, by the Center for Immigration Studies.

The authors concluded that the present situation of immigration creates enormous challenges for the nations schools, healthcare system, and physical infrastructure. The Center for Immigration Studies does not take a stand on the issue, but instead noodles over the numbers in order to bring light to the immigration effect upon taxpayers the United States. Think & Ask will add: President Bush and his fellow elected officials in Congress are 100 percent responsible for this growth -- and their goal is to take no action because immigration builds bigger government.

"Selection criteria can be altered, as can the total number of people allowed into the country legally. Moreover, the level of resources devoted to reducing illegal immigration can also be reduced or increased. With illegal aliens accounting for nearly one in three immigrants, their effect on the nation by themselves is now very large," authors wrote.

Lack of formal education (31 percent of immigrants overall lack a high school diploma) is the primary reason so many live in poverty the authors stated. The rate is higher for illegals. So, these immigrants actively use welfare programs at a cost to tax payers and natives. "A central question for immigration policy is whether we should allow in so many people with little education increasing job competition for the poorest American workers and the population needing government assistance."

Even Their Legal Stay Increases Welfare Use

If the government allows immigrants to stay legally (add to that a continued stream of new immigrants) the welfare system would have to expand in the United States, according to the authors.

"Legalization will not solve the problems of welfare use or low income associated with illegal immigration," the Center researchers wrote. "In fact, legalization (giving illegal workers citizenship) will increase use of welfare programs.
