Rachel Maddow Hits the Big Time

There are 55 comments on the lezgetreal.com story from Oct 31, 2008, titled Rachel Maddow Hits the Big Time. In it, lezgetreal.com reports that:

On her show for 29 October, Dr. Rachel Maddow aired her sit down interview with Senator Barrack Obama.

The interview, taped in Sarasota, FL where the Democratic candidate for President had just given a speech before a major rally that did not feature, like Senator McCain’s Ohio rally, a lot of school children bussed in from the surrounding counties.

Sarasota lies in the very center of a long held Republican Congressional District that was once held by Katherine Harris, the former Florida Secretary of State most famous for her decision to end the 2000 Presidential Election recounts in several key Florida districts.

Rachel Maddow is terrific. She's awfully smart, very well informed, funny, tough when she needs to be and polite through it all. She invites those with opposing views and let's them speak, and she doesn't yell. She seems to be one of the few hosts in the political/current events realm that refrains from that sort of thing. She's the best thing to come out of this election year. Well, excepting possibly the Tina Fey appearances portraying Palin. Team Maddow!

I happened to browse the channels one day and happened upon MSNBC, I'm a CNN fan myself but there was Rachel Maddow. Her delivery and outright honest approach instantly grabbed my attention. FANTASTIC show!

A NEW FAN!

Rachel Maddow is the feminine side of Keith Olbermann (I am a huge Olbermann fan). When they guest on each other's show, the mutual admiration is palpable, which makes for terrific TV.

I agree with the above posts. Rachel is a breath of fresh air and I've become a fan of hers. I saw the interview with Obama last night and thought she did a great job. It's great to watch a politician speak with intelligence which is lacking from the other camp.
So my conclusion is that Rachel is great, Obama has intelligence and John McCain has Joe the plumber.

And she did a great job of blasting the BS that mendacious turd David Frum tried to sell. Politely stood her ground, didn't become strident or even particularly excited. But she wouldn't let him off the hook with his wild and baseless accusations.

Naw, too limiting (although she would be good). Leave her on the air to be more than a mouth piece or put her in the cabinet. She's a doctor of philosophy and a Rhodes Scholar.

You can smell her on the TV?
With such a sterling intellect, I predict a bright future for you. But maybe not as bright as the doctor of philosophy and Rhodes Scholar who has become an immediate hit with her national TV show. I wouldn't be terribly surprised if she's easier to look at that you, you bitter, unreasoning demi-intellect.

Oooo!! That hurt. It is so true. You sure called that one....not.

Let's see if I can understand you. Rachel Maddow is an informed, intelligent, educated talk show host and Rhodes Scholar and has another degree in Philosophy and a piece of garbage. Hmmm. I don't usually make that connection. And you come into the Gay/Lesbian section and make an inflammitory remark and you think that any comment to you is just mean. SW, you better fasten your seatbelt.

I can't remember just how I happened upon her show, but it is one of my all time favorites. She hits the double bulls-eye. Smart and good looking. I have her show DVR'ed every night. She is a skilled interviewer. She is masterful at allowing guests to insert their own necks into the rope and she is not afraid to pull the lever as the floor drops away from them. And she does it so nicely. She is the other end of the scale compared to Rush Limbaugh. And that is just perfect for me.

I like the Press Secretary idea...

SW, move along. Nothing for you to see here.

We should take advice from someone who uses phrases like "runs off at the suck"?

I was wondering how long it would take for someone to berate this fine woman, who appears guilty of thinking critically. Isn't it odd how those who censure her offer no evidence any wrong doing or cluelessness on her part? I love her show and wish all women were as equally as intelligent as she.

Really shocking to find that bigots live in back water towns not much more than crossroads in Dixie. Straight Women (really? Women? plural?) and Lonewolf-got plumbing?

Could it be that your physical proximity indicates that you're really the same person spewing hate in multiple guises trying to weight your "opinion" as more popular than it really is?
