The big problem with this update to low income housing is excluding ex-felons from being in the program. Hasn't this Republican read that we are trying to help released inmates, including felons, get jobs and housing so they can make a living and not get into crime???

the public housing policies are a HODGEPOGE of federal, hud, state and county and who knows what else, and the REALITY OF ALL OF IT IS.any half baked concoction of subsidies ,grants, vouchers rebates .would better serve the whole country if sam would hand out a check $1.00 above poverty, to EVERYBODY.it would make every program, subsidie, grant, voucher ,rebates,TOTALLY UNNECESSARY. NO TO MENTION "MAKE US ALL TRULY EQUAL".and not the peter robbing paul fiasco of the last 4 decades. where winners lose and loosers win,all the time

Section 8 welfare housing is instant ghetto no matter how nice the area. People who do not own the property take no pride or place any personal value of the property. It's not racial, it's human nature. In my block I have minority neighbors whose house and yards are immaculate and non-minority and minority section 8'ers alike where the property looks like downtown Detroit. No pride at all, just entitlement.

It's one thing to have section 8 in the city or the slums. It's another thing when our federal government is purchasing or renting homes in nice suburbs. That should be a no-no.

The guy who owns the house next to me is a professional landlord. He has over 30 properties, and could care less about them. He rented the house next to mine to section 8 people. What a nightmare. In the three years he rented to section 8 people, I must have called the police about a dozen times.

They would come home all hours of the night during the workweek. They would exit their cars laughing and talking loud which is very disturbing in the summer when you have the windows open. They could care less that I had to get up in the morning to go to work and create tax money for them to live on. One time they stole my new gas grill. Another time when I asked the lowlife in a nice way to turn his car stereo off when he pulled in at 3:00 am, he started to scream at my house egging me to come out and fight. It took a lot of restraint to not put a few .357's through his head from my bedroom window.

Lowlifes don't belong with civilized people. If you take 3/4 cup of fresh wholesome milk, and mix that with 1/4 cup of stale sour milk, you only have one thing: a cup of bad milk. The good milk won't change the bad milk. The bad milk only ruins the good milk.

This is a very bad idea. Hundreds of Thousands of Section 8'ers always Vote Democrat. They are a cornerstone of keeping Blue State Blue.

Obama must lash out at Repubs and publicly demand more tax slavery from the pitiful American middle class in support of lax rules on Section 8.

Never happen. DumBama wants the wealthy to pay for everything even though they don't collectively have that kind of money. 47% of our population pays no income tax at all, and it's no accident either.

No accident indeed, Reagan started the spread of wealth gap and now after dubya 47% of the people make so little they need not pay any taxes, so go ahead and continue to support the fascists in tearing down America. Soon only 20% will be paying taxes. I surley wouldn,t be whining if I was only paying 250,000 of my 1,000,000. I think that would put me in the black by $7,500,000 in ten years, and could probably retire comfortably after 40 years.($30,000,000) Might be tight though withour my social security. LMFAO! The private personal life is the property of the parasitical corporation--a state created surrogate proxy for control--by virtue of its right to make profit from the life activities of its citizens (U.S.A., Inc.). Even gratuitous free personal time during unemployment is documented and scrutinized by State created privatized corporate administrative tyrannies maintaining a running worker profile and history to share with other private tyrannies. Surveillances by either a private tyranny, or a State agency are still an invasion of the private Human space—the private individual is always viewed as an object of production and exploitation. The fascist alliance of private corporate tyrannies and State authority is able to “deprivatize” individual Human existence (MATRIX). Any restriction placed on private corporations is circumvented by State power: correspondingly, private tyrannous corporations overcome any regulatory restriction by appealing to State power resulting in a total administrative-bureaucratic apparatus for planning, management and domination of every aspect of Human life (ChoicePoint has 10 billion records on individuals and businesses). Technological advances in cybernetic are not adopted to create human leisure time and reduce the necessity of wage labor, but are instead utilized to reinforce the work-income relation and streamline financial exploitation in the form of fees, fines, taxes, and total surveillance in a digital Police State. Not even the most repressive Communist totalitarian state has had this capacity of total bureaucratic-administration of private Life. Everything from one’s computer, to one’s buying habits, illnesses, education, and even one’s “free time“ belongs to the Corporation euphemistically as marketing research “data.” Privacy is an illusion, but the language of counterfeit privacy is all-pervasive as in “my democracy,”“your vote,” and “my supervisor.”

Government raises property tax all the time to pay for more government.

This makes it so people can't pay rent because higher property taxes are added to the price of rents.

So then the Government solution is to create more Government to pay for section 8.

Of course this just ends up raising taxes & the cost of living more!

Then the solution to this will be even more Government.

Government is like a cancerous tumor it constantly seeks to get bigger & bigger untill it ends up destroying anything.

gawd you share-the-wealth loons, take from those who earn a good living and give it to the poor uneducated lazy asz masses. So after you kill off all profits and businesses close because of no profitability then where's the money going to come from ? The only thing I agree with your statement is that 54% of people who work pay for the 47% welfare leeches gaming the system. Watch greece, your socialist anti-capitalistic meme has them waiting in breadlines for food.
.
this 47%, big portion illegals, a lot in their 3rd or 4th generation of gaming the system (I have adhd, i'm obese I can't work) will never stop long as they get the free ride. Education is free (except for the 53% carrying all the property and income tax burden).
I bet with the exception of a very minimum you will find most people started at the bottom when they hit the job market, bettered themselves and climbed the ladder by their sweat and labor just to pay your leeches their drug and booze money.
When I hit the job market at 20, I started at 1.65 an hour, 30 years later it averaged $35.00 an hour. Bosses don't give away money, workers earn it.
government gives away money, and freeloaders take it
.
big difference.

Lots of pathetic losers who pay no tax at all will certainly vote Obama. Why anyone else would is the mystery that confounds most of us.

if government cant pass laws that treat everyone equally, instead of moving the SCALE and putting its finger on it, to accomodate those that are on the lite side of everything , maybe it should find a new role or a new approach. .like THE REBORN USSR DID.the ruskies and chinese have managed to ,INSTEAD OF CASINO CAPITALISM.where the odds dip switches are set

ChoicePoint's database of personal information contained names, addresses, Social Security numbers, credit reports, and other sensitive data. In 2005, this database contained 250 terabytes of data on 220 million people.[7] ChoicePoint also operated the Comprehensive Loss Underwriting Exchange (CLUE), a database used by insurance companies to share histories of claims or damage reports on property.[8] The CLUE database includes identification information on properties such as homes and automobiles, policy records (name, date of birth, policy number), and records of claims (date and type of loss, amounts paid). As of 2006, history is kept for five years. It contains records of damage reports regardless of whether the damage resulted in a claim.[8]

Palast picks up the story with Bush’s 2000 US Presidential Election campaign where he claims Florida Governor Jeb Bush and Florida Secretary of State Katherine Harris used their influence to purge and discount the ballots of predominantly Gore-supporting black voters through the “fake felons list” compiled by private company DBT/ChoicePoint for US$4 million.
