Collective bargaining within the public sector is a conflict of interest. Those employed by State or Federal governments do so at the behest of the public at large, not labor unions.

FDR once said, such an arrangement in government service is "unthinkable." Remember those words at JFK's inauguration? "Ask not what your country can do for you - ask what you can do for your country." Both democrats, before the party lost their way, and before the "entitlement" philosophy crept into the Cabeza....

and the ultra-liberal democrat, jimmy carter, signed into law a bill that banned collective bargaing rights to ALL federal public employees.
no state public employees should have collective bargaining rights either...
and, it looks as if, THAT'S finally going to happen!

This is just the preliminaries to the new American realities. I always love how we are patriots and love America except when it is us that get affected. Then it is war and hate. Come on! How many have led the life of Riley working for government? Multiple trips. Eating out regularly. Parties. This is going to take about a decade or so to clean up. But the hardest step is the first. That is why we are getting 6 billion dollar cuts in a massive deficit is going against the culture of Washington. Once it starts, and becomes accepted, it might not be easy, but it will become the common sense way to ease the pain for all Americans. And much of the pain will be a change in our behavior. and that will not be force on us by a political party. It will be forced on us by economics. Otherwise shanty towns that will probably arise, will expand by a multiple much greater.

going back to the "old ways" is exactly what the union thugs and union workers are trying to do.....

bully and run over people to get excessive pay and benefits for it's members....in return for higher dues and political power.

Unions have no place in government.....

Unions are just another attempt of communism in America via the democrat party. They have already reached socialist status. Now for total control, under the communist banner is their ultimate goal.
They control the media and keep micro managing Americans.

Sadly, in every group there are people who will sell out their heritage, values and people for money, status or self-hatred.

Many Irish union workers find it appalling for it to be Irishmen in government that support taking away the rights that their forefathers fought and died forÖ itís the same way for Blacks who despise self-hating Uncle Tomís that smile and dance around like buffoons for bigots that hate people of their ethnicity.

The backlash is going to be a thing of beauty as it has already begun with the recall effort in Wisconsin. Republicans operatives have acknowledged that they might have bitten off more than they can chew; and swatted a hornetsí nest with their assault on the middle class over collective bargaining.

"We're not going back to the old ways.."

No siree, Bob. We're going to plow ahead and continue and crush the working people of this country until we they realize exactly WHO is important around here and who has complete control over their pitiful little lives.

These public service union leaders are nuts. What they are selling, the taxpayer is not buying. We are saying your product is faulty, defective, broken, and is way over priced. We are removing your product from our budget.

Many unions have dual or even tri level wages and benefits to their individual dues members. That is a load of crap and a lie to what unions are supposed to be.That is selfishness to the individual and no respect to the group. What Repubs have bitten does not make a difference anymore. Your lifeline is in foreign hands. Your hope as an American is to emigrate to a low tax state that will build the remnants of a once great nation covering a small percentage of America that will last so many years to give hope to their children. What do you think this is? A billion Chinese live in hovels! A billion Indians ain't doing much better. That does not include the rest of Southeast Asia. Get it yet! Or are you stupid claiming racism? When push comes to shove, people will die. Worse case scenario...

The fact is we need to cut our federal govt, in half. Also there is no way anyone can afford to pay workers pensions which give them almost 80% of their top 4 years averaged of pay in retirement per year. This is along with their extremely reduced cost to them healthcare plan. The numbers just do not work.

The liberals once again fan the flames of ethnic, racial, and gender partisanship (take your pick) to advance their socialist goals. It's becoming rather monotonous to watch the liberal machinations. Hey libs! Please come up with something different for God's sake... you're boring the hell out of me and it's getting ridiculous.

Typical union thuggery, demonstrated in Wisconsin for failure to adhere to the law and now with shot out window in republican office.

The unions and democrats are instigating hatred and attacks are starting to occur.

How about a sliding union pay scale?

Those top wage earners pay MORE unions dues and those on the bottom pay LESS or NOTHING at all.
