One small problem with the "conservative" approach, it doesn't work, never has and never will. They talk about less government when they actually mean even less regulation. Their deregulation policies are what got us to where we are today, BROKE, busted and disgusted!

Wrongola - on every count

The conservative, free market approach has worked, and worked well for over 6000 years. What doesn't work is the 150 year old Socialist/Communist system. It's failed in every single Country. Even Russia, which became reliant on US goods imports, only lasted for 80 years. European Countries which are moving away from the nanny state "solution" are seeing greater economic gains than ever before, while the Countries that are further entrenching the nanny state system are nearing bankruptcy - VERY quickly.

It wasn't regulations or deregulation that devastated the economy, it was MISregulation. Trying to achieve incomprehensible "social goals" by means of foolish mandates. Want to increase economic participation of a particular sub-grouping of society? Educate properly, don't hand over freebies for which they are unprepared. They WILL succeed this way. Artificial quotas are guaranteed to exacerbate failure.

cjrian, You posted exactly what I was thinking as I read that post.

Our country became a superpower following conservative principles. When the "progressives" started working their way into power, we started a backward slide. Now they are attempting to rewrite history. "Progressives" tell us all the "progressive" failures are conservative failures and we need to be even more "progressive" to recover.
