Just glad some folks are doing something. Conastellation is being cut but nothing is being offered to in its place. Guess we are not going back to explore the moon. Guess we won't know more about Mars. Guess the US will no longer be the leader in "space and industry" according to JFK. Other countries will probably become more advanced in their space program. But we're just going to stand by and watch everyone else pass us by. We are talking about a NASA budget of $1 billion dollars. Meantime, all this businesses like automakers and banks who lost money from mismanagement have been getting money in the billions of $$$ to keep them afloat. And i thought Obama wanted to be like JFK who was for enhancing the space program. There are a lot of jobless folks already out there and he wants to add more. Cutting the constellation without nothing to substitute it is giving a thumbs-up sign to unemployment. Sometimes it really makes a big difference when a president has experience (except for Kennedy who was young but knew what made sense for the country) and military background (McChrystal incident). I am losing my confidence in the President.

This just in from the President: NASA will never design and build another rocket. All he will let us do is occasionally assist the "commercial space program."

EXACTLY what reason(S)are there to go back to the moon in the first place? We went there back in the 70's and all we brought back was moon rocks and dust, it has been analyzed to death. It's nice to dream about having people living on the moon but is there any REAL reason why we need to? Obama made a bold move here and I applaud him. It forces NASA to get back to making baby steps to explore space and other planets (besides MARS). Lets face facts folks, having people live on other planets or Moons is wayyyyyyy off in the future and we dont need to be thinking of that now. Also, to make a trip to mars takes over a year, thats alot of fuel, so NASA, work on finding another fuel source besides solid rocket fuel. There are alot of jobs to be created here folks with research and we need to tap into that. Research is what we got out of NASA,(calculators, microwave ovens, insulation, etc.)thats what truely creates jobs, not sending 3-4 astronauts in space to get rocks.

Thanks, WHoCaRES. I couldn't have said it better myself. Unfortunately this town is full of people who would be for leaving another footprint or 2 on the moon even if it broke the country, as long as THEY don't lose THEIR job. Just ignore them.

We don't care. You won't find any sympathy with us Obama lovers. It is time to take some from the priveleged and give it back to less fortunate for a change. You NASA jokers have had it made for decades and we can no longer afford to fatten the pigs. It is time to slaughter and eat them. It is your turn to scrape and grub out a living in the real world with everyone else. Get yourselves a job sacking groceries or flipping burgers or something. Trade in that BMW for a 10 year old Chevy. Sell that $500,000.00 mansion before it gets forclosed and move into my neighborhood.(It is the one with Obama signs in every other yard.) Loose those alligator skin shoes and the Rolex. Pick up a pair of cheap work boots, grab a shovel, and come on down to the muddy construction site. We'll see you there!

Got that right. Btw...I worked on the Space Station (Freedom) back when it was a $33 Billion project...Now it is a $175 Billion project. When you got a gas guzzler like NASA...you gotta keep feedin the monster

Last time I checked, that was stealing. What gives you or anybody else the right to take from anyone? If you want something...work for it and stop trying to justify stealing it from someone else. It's freeloading people like you who demand that others pay your way that drag this country down.

With NASA and other high tech companies gone, just who in the **** do you think is going to pay for schools and public assistance programs? Before you answer remember....all the "privileged rich" will have moved on to better things in other parts of the country. Don't think for one second they will join the ranks of the "less fortunate". They actually have the education and desire that will land them a new job in no time. That is more than what can be said for people like you.

All you current Republicans are just big jokes. You complain about budget deficits so they cut the budget and you get pissed because it is in your district. Your man Bush ran the country in the ground with the largest deficits in history and you want to blame Obama. Go to Alaska and live with your idiot leader Palin.

You may not like it but Obama is the smartest and best President we have had in a long time. I have voted Republican all my life and I love Obama. He is educated and a calm voice in all the idiots like Palin, hannity, Limbaugh, Coulter, Cheney, etc........

You only hate him because he is Black. Grow up and join the rest of the world. Or you can go live under a rock with Palintards and wait for the rapture to jerk your dumbasses away.

Go Obama and I will vote for him in 2012 along with many other former republicans.

sorry but obama is running this country into the ground. Now instead of cutting good paying jobs, that pay for your entitlements. We need to cut the entitlement programs starting with the useless healthcare bill that will do nothing but increase cost, as per this adminstration folks have said. And lets not forget the quote, we have to pass healthcare first so we know what is in it.. And yet again, people like you bring up race. And by the way, obama has outspent Bush in all areas.

Maybe you should work for a living instead of taking from those who do something with their lives. You can learn a great deal from the workers at NASA.

"take some from the priveleged and give it back to less fortunate", who are you? Robin Hood? So its fair to take my hard earned money and give it to people who are too lazy to go out and earn it themselves?

And why would we "Pick up a pair of cheap work boots, grab a shovel, and come on down to the muddy construction site"? We have degrees. That's why companies pay us good salaries with good benefits. If you feel so "under priveleged", then go get some pell grants and student loans, go to school, and start a career. Take some responsibility for yourself.

I'd bet money you never put on a pair of work boots and went to a real job in your life. People that really work for a living, no matter what they do, wouldn't vote for obummer. The ones living on Uncle Sam's Plantation are the ones that do that, and we all know who you are. How about you give up the POS car with the tires and spinner rims that cost more than the car did. How about YOU give up that government housing you live in. How about you stop having babies by as many different women as possible. How about you support the kids you do have. Here's a clue, standing in the welfare, free clinic, and other give away lines are not real jobs. So take your own advice and "man up". Then maybe others will give a sh!t about what you have to say.

NASA... WORKERS? EARNING a living? What a load of crap!

I've held jobs in this city for almost half a century and only collected 1 week of unemployment in that time. I was also BORN here. I have health and dental insurance and retirement and owe no one a dime. No NASA freeloader can lecture me on contributing to society. I've also been to NASA hundreds of times. The place is about .05% of my company's business and for some reason I get every stinking assignment there. Those no-working idiots will stare down their noses at you and act like they are God's gift to mankind and all us other pee-ons should grovel at their feet. They'll cost you a hundred manhours of labor to save themselves a coffee break and then accuse you of dragging your feet. They get 3 weeks of paid vacation a year, 15 paid holidays, a month of sick leave, and couldn't be fired if they stole the payrole. They can become a heroin junkie and my tax dollars will send them to rehab every 6 months for 5 years straight. They only work about 30 hours a week on average anyway! And with all that, they will use any excuse - make one up if they have to - to complain and go home on a work day. I've been the butt of that trick several times.

Strangely, the scientists and other highly educated professionals are the nice, hard working ones. The biggest ***holes are the other 90% who knew somebody and got hired to bend paper clips or watch the grass grow. They think the world revolves around themselves. They are the ones that will bombard this post and dispute my life-long 1st hand testament and carry on and on about how much they EARN every dime. Hogwash.

I swear, I don't care if the entire region turns to a desert wasteland because of it. I hope Obama fires every one of you fools and you have to leave the state on a bus because you can't afford a bicycle. AND DON'T LET THE DOOR KNOB HIT YOU IN THE KEISTER ON THE WAY OUT OF TOWN EITHER!!!

please get your facts straight about the auto industry, they lost money and JOBS due to people here in america buying foreign cars, not a chrysler, ford, or gm. the banks lost due to no one working to buy homes or keep their homes, taxes going to waashington. think before you speak, who cares about mars now people need their jobs so that they can buy homes and keep the taxes going dummie.
