Judging from the aerial views of the oil slick, this is a heck of a lot worse than the politicians are admitting. The "booms" that are suppposed to be containing the slick are simply washing ashore, along with the oil they are supposed to be blocking.

All I can tell from various news sources is that there is a whole lot of handwringing and head bumping among the bureaucrats who are supposed to be dealing with this. Perhaps a step in the right direction would be to try to shut off the recalcitrant valve to prevent further oil contaminants. There are unmanned mini-submarines that do this sort of thing by remote control. I'm sure that at least ONE of our highly paid bureaucrats knows SOMETHING about the issue. He must be the guy that's been on vacation for the last week.

Just wait till all the oil starts washing up on the gulf coast beaches with along with the dead marine life.

How's that whole "drill baby drill" thing working out for you now?!

Maybe people will be more fearful than concerned when currents of the Gulf Stream carry the oil up the Atlantic Seaboard.
