The city is split. If one of the black candidates don't drop out of the race the Blacks will split the vote, and Rahm will walk in as Mayor. I never thought a Jewish boy could win, but I have friends in Chicago political circles,(they think I am a Democrat!!) and they say Rahm is a lock. The deal is Billy campaigns for Rahm, and when Hillary runs for President he will give her Chicago. Yes, the Mayor is that influencial in Chicago politics. It's a new day I guess. With it's finances so messed up I feel sorry for the new Mayor.

The only thing jeopardized by Bill Clinton's support of Rahm Emanuel is Danny Davis's mayoral ambitions. And even that is only a minor obstacle.

Bill Clinton is a beloved figure among blacks, so naturally the two black candidates would not want him to support Emanuel. But Chicago voters know President Clinton is not a Chicagoan, and they know who the key candidates are. If Mr Davis is viable, he will run and make a strong showing. If Bill Clinton can seriously damage Davis campaigning for his former senior aide Emanuel, Davis is not viable.

Hillary was also beloved by blacks...until a black man was running against her. Then their loyalties changed mightily.

I'm thinking Bill should just stay out of this one...he could wind up playing pool with Jimmy Hoffa.

to danny davis, it's all about race. he thinks a black candidate would do a better job. one only has to look at how cook county has been run with black leadership...it's been just as corrupt and pathetic. i for one don't care who gets in as long as they're honest and brings in fresh ideas without raising taxes.

There are men and women who are. But how likely is that with the same old corrupted people running for office wherever they can?

Why would any American vote for a man who refused to fight in The U S Military, but put his life on the line for Israel? He should be running for office in Israel. but on second thought they pretty much run this Country anyway! The Chicago Flag is the Right color, we only need to change the stars to Stars of David.

There was a big meeting tonight at Operation Push between Jesse Jackson, Carol Mosely Braun, and Danny Davis. Most likely Jesse wants one of the black candidates to back away. They will get a big important job from the new Black Mayor for giving up their place on the ballot. Problem is Rahm Emanuel is beating both of them, and blacks are not going to be happy if you remove their candidate from the running. They will stay home. Alas! What to do, what to do. I live in the country now, so I get a laugh out of Chicago poitics.

I hear that. His arrogant, argumentative attitude would go over well in Tel Aviv.
