Great news Senator Mel Martinez (R-Fl) has announced his resignation!

Hurray! Pro Amnesty Republican RESIGNS!

http://www.alipac.us/article-4437-thread-1-0....

Senator Martinez had a pathetic grade of D- at betterimmigration.com

http://grades.betterimmigration.com/testgrade...

He and John McCain were the main Republican pushers of Bush's AMNESTY bills (along with Ted Kennedy) that were defeated in 2006 and 2007.

Since Martinez supported that highly unpopular AMNESTY legislation, which the U.S. Senate plans to bring back this month, his support levels in Florida have remained very low.

The chances are high that Martinez's consultants are telling him he is unelectable just like John McCain.

Martinez decided to vote for Sonia Sotomayor and run!

Happy to see the resignation of sellout Senator Mel Martinez - our nation is better off without him, wish more of the DC sellouts would follow him out the door!

We the People MUST make sure that happens...

Well another USA Senator who VOTED for the Bush, MCain, Teddy Kennedy, Linsey Graham Illegal Aliens Amnesty Bill, Etc will leave the USA Senate----question is will 50+ Per Cent of FL Voters march to the POLLS of their own free will and CAST votes in about 1 1/2 years to Elect another USA Senator to Vote for Amnesty for Illegal Aliens Amnesty.

I would not bet 2 cents that 50+ per cent of FL Voters does not Elect another USA Senator to help Teddy Kennedy, McCain, Linsey Graham try to get a Illegal Aliens Amnesty thru the Senate.

It is FL Voters RIGHT to do so----so be it.

There seems to be rash of defections and sudden retirements of republicans. My guess is they are suffering from "sore loser syndrome". The reality is sinking in that they really screwed up the country, and the rats are always the first to abandon a sinking ship!

Actually, I think the nominee will be a "place holder" until or IF crist runs. If democrats attack Crist too openly there would be a viable republican candidate ready to step and take on the mantle and Crist can back out.

interesting move

Coming from someone who lives within the Senators distrcit. This is good and bad. As a proud card carrying member of the Libertarians, it is good to see this Democrat with a Republican title leave. Pretty stoked about it actually. But, the really scary part is now the biggest Liberal with a Republican title Crist gets to appoint someone for a seat that he intends to run for next year. One good thing about Martinez, he was no where as bad as Crist. They should call me, I'll go.

Daily Horoscope for January 7

Aquarius

Avoid making promises today, or even believing in other people's promises. Today is not a good day to make commitments, as they are not likely to materialise. Taking risks is a no-no. Try to relax until the numbers are in your favour. Those pursuing their career will benefit.
