Foreign policy experts see the standoff as a proxy fight between conservative Republicans and the Obama administration on how to deal with Hugo Chavez, Venezuela’s socialist president.

So, by your agrument, if the US Supreme Court had ruled that Bush/Cheney had broken the Constitution and ordered them removed, then if the United Nations and a majority of "world leaders" disagreed, the US Supreme Court's ruling would have to be overturned...and Bush/Cheney restored to power?

Of course the 'facts' you offer can be discredited, because they aren't true. The Supreme Court of Honduras ordered Zeleya removed, NOT the military. The military was tasked with the removing.

Zeleya was not replaced with a military officer,(like Hugo Chavez), but with the constitutionally mandated line of succession. Michalletti will be in power until new elections can be organized.

All of this is authorized by the Honduran constitution. What Obama is doing is the same thing liberals criticized Bush for doing.

Your version is conservative spin; not accepted by most the rest of the world. The UN General Assembly would not be involved in a proper transfer of power. What you call "meddling" is the intervention of the rest of the world, not just the Obama Administration.

This would unfold as it is even if President Bush was still in office; the only difference is almost certainly, nobody would count on the US to help resolve the conflict.

United nations declares Castro World hero

After the Court quite legally declared that Zelaya was no longer president, he was duly replaced by Honduras’s Congress with a civilian, the Congressional Speaker). The Obama Administration recently decided to impose sanctions on Honduras, and indicated it will not recognize future democratic elections in Honduras unless Honduras first lets ex-president Zelaya return to power.

Congresswoman Diane Watson (D-CA) recently praised Fidel Castro as a genius who “kicked out the wealthy” from Cuba.

Many officials in the Obama Administration are sympathetic to Marxist regimes. For example, Obama’s appointee to be the FCC’s “diversity officer” is Mark Lloyd, a big fan of Venezuela’s socialist dictator, Hugo Chavez. Although Chavez has shot unarmed demonstrators, Lloyd has called socialist Venezuela a model, praised its authoritarian leader’s “incredible revolution” and defended his attacks on independent media. Obama’s nominee to be Assistant Secretary of State, Arturo Valenzuela, has a reputation as a loud defender of Venezuelan dictator Chavez’s terrible record on freedom of the press.
