It is true that if a Republican votes for amnesty they most likely will not make it in the next primary. Americans have said loud and clear that they oppose amnesty and in non-presidential election year when mot LIVs don' even know there is an election those politicians that vote against the interests of working Americans will be looking for their masters to find them a job the private sector.

Repubs are damned if they do and damned if they dont. They could kill it and make their base happy but its not going to help their demigraphs down the road as well as give Dems all the ammo they need on the issue of immigration.

They could let it pass and piss off their base, but the majority of those still arent going to vote for them any time soon. It would be a start in helping themselves in that demigraph but it will take a lot more time and bills before it starts to pay off.

And we all know in America its about instant results.

Or they can kill it,get rid of people like rubio, graham, corker, hoven.and all the other idiots that want to be dems but are not.reelect real republicans.plenty of dems will not be reelected either, american people will make sure to vote.the next president will not go there.spamish vote no longer really means anything.our next president will know not to do this illegal, thing.he is smart he will enforce the laws, close the borders.even if we end up with a dem president.he may not like the illegals here.republicans can only do one thing now, kill the bill hope for the best.lots of people will like that, you never know we could end up with a republican president.

That's just another media lie. Polls, Polls, from whom? We the Americans do not want amnesty and the lies have got to stop. We have enough problems than to continue to pamper Mexicans, for nothing. The Candidate in the next election will determine the future of this Country, not Mexicans...

It's a win-win situation for Democrats. If GOP wont pass it, its them who killed the bill, the blame is on them, if imm.reform passed, credit will be on the Democrats. Smart politics.

How about the Republicans who SHOULD lose their seats for backing amnesty? I'd say McCain, Rubio, Graham, Flake, Boehner and the rest of the neocon bufoons should be the ones that get the boot. They're the ones selling out the American people. And lets not forget about the whole damn Democratic party that has made selling the American people out an art form.

If you actually read the article it does not say that Americans want the current amnesty bill passed. It says that the majority want the immigration issue solved. That could include actually enforcing the current laws. There are many people out there that think "comprehensive immigration reform" is aimed at reducing illegal immigration because of the name attached to it. If it were called the "amnesty for illegal aliens bill" or the "bill to increase the number of foreign workers in the United States" I am sure opinions would differ significantly.
It also says some voters would be "less likely" to vote for a Republican that does not support immigration reform. Of course it does not say that the voters polled who were "less likely" to vote Republican would be likely to vote Republican under any circumstances. This is just another spin piece with no actually facts or data.
I want to see the results of a poll that actually asks voters if they want amnesty for illegal aliens and an a large increase in unskilled, semi-skilled and skilled workers allowed to work in the U.S. and displace American workers. Let's see if any of the illegal alien media groups will actually ask if voters want what is being proposed as "comprehensive immigration reform".
This is just like Obama care. Ask people if they want free healthcare they all say yes but if you ask those who currently pay for their healthcare if they want to have their premiums and deductibles triple so that those who do not want to pay for healthcare can get it for free and you will get a different answer.

after 15+ years of amnesty type bills pushed into congress by pro-illegals and not one being passed, one can only conclude that the majority do not want one.

right?

in fact, if you follow the elections at all, you would know that those candidates who sided with an amnesty are being voted out of office.

in 2010, this was more obvious then ever before.

there are only 4 million puerto ricans on planet earth.

in comparison, the usa has a population of over 300+ million people.

so, the question now is - just how much influence do you think puerto rico should have in any issue concerning the usa?..if any.
