Reading Constitution Aloud Called 'Fetish'

In a nation founded upon the U.S. Constitution, one might think that reading the founding document out loud on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives might not be controversial, but some on the left suggest those promoting its voicing have a "fetish." Among them is Dahlia Lithwick of Slate.com , who penned a column titled, "Read It and Weep: How the tea party's fetish for the Constitution as written may get it in trouble."

I wonder when the Democrats will sue evil republicans for creating a "hostile work environment" with the reading of that silly, antiquated document.

geez, why don't they just waterboard the poor guys and gals?

The irony is that, written in the King's English, most tea baggers wouldn't have a clue about the contents of the Constitution were it not for talk radio telling them.

It's not called waterboarding anymore, it's called "forced hydration"

By the way, the dems don't want to hear the constitution, because it threatens their agenda. GOP 2012!!!

It makes me sick for the party that does not beleive in the constitution is reading it like they have now done a complete 180 and will now support it. The party that does not support the constitution in any way shape or form. This is as hypocritcal as you get. This is sickening. This is like saying a republican is religous. God and the world knows better. The house leader says he prays most of the day. The a false prophet known as the anti Christ. This is a King George JR.

You KKK demorats carry a grudge for a long time. You are still angry because the Republicans eliminated those items from today's Constitution. I know you would still like to have Rastus back out their working your cotton fields, but Lincoln and the Union army changed all that.
The only problem is, you can free a man's body from slavery, but if the freebies of the plantation are still a dominant part of his thinking, there is little hope for real freedom.

Wrong. It was read. As were the amendments to the
Constitution that removed the portions that offend you.

Never mind, you are permitted to continue to your own
brand hatred.

Were there any members of the U.S. Supreme court to "interpret" it?
