Wrong Type Republicans??
Evangelical Republican Preacher Ted Haggard was the President of the National Association of Evangelicals, and he was an ardent supporter of Republican President George Dubya Bush.
Republican Preacher Ted met frequently with Dubya and he was designated Dubya's Spiritual Advisor.
Preacher Ted did weekly conference calls with
Dubya. I guess Preacher Ted was the "Right Type Republican" then. Preacher Ted was preaching against same-sex marraige and delivering fiery anti-gay sermons.
But then Preacher Ted Haggard was exposed by his Homosexual Lover, who revealed the 3 year Homosexual Love Affair. I guess then Preacher Ted turned into the "Wrong Type Republican."

Haggard was never the "right kind" of Republican. Just a typical Republican

Edward Roderick Davies (1915–1992) was a self-made industrialist. Born in a Welsh coal mining family, in 1929 Davies immigrated to the United States with his father David Davies who had black lung disease and had been injured in a mining accident. David worked at a Ford plant and paid for his wife, Annie Davies, and son, Edward, to come thereafter. In 1938, Edward graduated from General Motors Institute of Technology in 1938 with a degree in engineering and, after serving a stint in the U.S. Naval Engineering corps, in 1946 Davies co-founded a maker of heavy equipment for marine use, Jered Industries. Jered helped to engineer the landing crafts used for the D-Day invasion of Normandy.[2][2][3] Davies – who had also worked with the NASA's Gemini space program[4] and served as the mayor of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan – was the father of Ann Romney.[5]

Jered was sold to the British engineering firm Vickers in 1980, at Davies' retirement.(The division became an independent entity again in 1997 and was acquired in 2005 by PaR Systems.[6])

Controversially, Davies, who was known to call organized religion "hogwash" and "drudgery" was, 11 months after his death, baptized in accord with Mormon tradition (Mormonism being the religion of his children including his daughter Ann and son-in-law, republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney). Despite being an avowed atheist, his children met to perform the ritual. Prompting the free world to say, what? According to a report by the Daily Mail, "Little else is known about the specifics of the 'special family meeting' which resulted in Mr Davies' baptism, except that it took place in the famed Salt Lake Temple in Utah on September 13, 1993. Whether or not Mitt Romney was present is unknown, but it seems likely that his wife Ann certainly was."[7

I admit that happens way to much and it's as bad as male molesting little boys. Both are wrong but at least I do admit it, unlike you Gays that doesn't want to admit that one of their own would do such a thing. You are the closest to admitting that at least I could be right. But then again, you know I'm right about this issue.
Of course, some gays have molested children. Nobody on this board ever suggested that no gays ever have molested children. But people who study these issues inform us that pedophilia is no more prevalent among gays than heterosexuals.

But you lie all the time, pretending that all gays are interested in children. The fact is, only a small percent of either gays or straights is sexually attracted to children.

This article is misleading as to the numbers and the strength of Gays & Lesbians in the Republicans Party. The article tends to downplay the importance and power of Gays and Lesbians in the Republican Party.
Log Cabin Republicans.Org is over 30 years old, and holds a National Convention every year. The LCR Convention was held in Dallas,Texas last year.
Log Cabin Republicans' Lawyers filed the Law Suit in Federal Court to Repeal the U.S. Military's "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" Policy. The Obama Administration simply chose not to fight the Gay & Lesbian Republicans on this issue, so LCR won the Law Suit.

The other Major Republican Gay & Lesbian Organization that is not even mentioned in this article is GOProud.Org . Ann Coulter and Grover Norquist serve on the Board of GOProud,Org.

Homosexual Ken Mehleman was the Republican National Committee Chairman during the G W Bush Administration. Gay Ken was also Dubya's National Campaign Chairman in Dubya's 2004 Re-Election Campaign.
The Republicans are willing to credit the LogCabiners (rather than other groups) because they are their pets, and doing so weakens the other groups and allows the GOP to claim that they are inclusive.

I don’t understand it. Being vilified by a segment of the republican base, seen almost as second class citizens would be more than I could stomach. There are social issues, human right issues that transcend economic ones.
