How about a "bank czar" for the "overegulated" banking and hedgefund and securities and derivatives and investment banking industries?

How about we let em sink or swim like the airlines have been doing? Oh, that would mean the union contracts would be void! Cannot do that! They need their 90 bucks an hour.

how about letting the hedgefund banking derivatives securities industries sink or swim? Oh yeah, that would mean the boys wouldn't get their multi multi million dollar golden parachutes.

How can it be a good idea to allow Senators manage private firms? It is not like these people have any record of success. As a matter of fact you could argue that they are the problem to begin with.

We don't need no stinking car czar....

Somebody name one thing the Federal Government has taken over that has become more effective and efficient.

Let them go bankrupt. A Federal bankruptcy judge is in a much better position to make unbiased decisions as to the best course of action. Get Dem-votes IC Peloshit and Barney Brainless out of the it and we'll all be better off.

good idea! then all their political cronies who couldn't get elected can get high buck, great benefit federal jobs and still do nothing!

After all, more government is needed to reach the "change we can believe in!" political promise. What a great place to start!

It just keeps getting better, I'm quite sure Pelosi would like the idea of a "car czar", just what we need, ANOTHER government agency with 500 more government employees sitting on their ass doing nothing but sucking up more tax dollars...

Why isn't standing up at these congressional hearings and shouting "these people (CEOs) are CAR SALESMAN, they will tell you whatever you want to hear !".
Also, 1 in 10 jobs tied to the auto industry, yah, counting car parts stores, repair shops and probably gas stations. What, does congress think if they don't bail these greeder losers out that peole are going to stop needing to repair their cars too? Give nme a break. Let them fail and let the competition take over

Hasn't Minnesota given NWA loans to bail them out? I'll wager a guess that other states have done that for other airlines' HQ's.

Unknown private sources within the Speaker's Office, speaking on condition of anonymity, have reported that Pelosi's reaction to the suggestion of a frontal lobotomy was quick and terse:

"I'd rather have a Bottle In Front Of Me,
Than a Frontal Lobotomy!"

Those same un-named sources, fearing for their jobs, refused to comment on the number of bottles typically before the Speaker, nor the frequency of such placement of said bottles. Brand names and proof ratings were similarly unavailable to this intrepid reporter.

Hey here's the deal on the car czar. First the dems put out those low life loans to folks that could not pay them back and are now negotiating the bad loans to let folks stay in their homes for almost nothing. And now, with the car czar we can count on the same sluggos to put cars in the garages of those same low life unable to pay folks, compliments of ????? Yup you guessed it democrats. Al that is missing is more of your money, but the ONE, will just tax us working folks even more to fund this. What a great guy, great party and of course we taxpayers are duped as always. FDR said, "a chicken in every pot", Obama can claim, "a car in every garage". Super, just super. I can hardly wait for a bailout for doctors, dentists, lawyers, teachers, etc. It's a freakin free for all.

And let me guess: the car czar will decree that we all drive little sardine cans with no AC, no satellite radio, no cruise control, but the big government mucky-mucks get cushy limos. Oh, it's ok, there's only a *few* of them on the road, so their gas usage doesn't matter.
Maybe we can name the limos "Zhigulis" (old Soviet copy of the Mercedes Benz).
And I'll also have to give up my big bad old Harley.
Yeah right.

Daily Horoscope for January 8

Sagittarius

You'll feel friendly with everyone you meet today, and you might even be lucky financially. Money should be coming in, but going out rather fast as well... Astral influences will keep you on your toes, and will probably make you flirtatious, but they could also make you moody. This makes it tricky for close relationships to run on an even keel. The truth is, perhaps you don't want too much closeness at the moment. Your partner probably knows that you're often like this, by now, anyway.
