Look, we all have problems in today's economic climate. As an Alaskan and knowing that each of the six families in this "heartsick" plea should have received $19,614 in Permanent Fund Dividends and energy assistance bonuses only two or three months ago, this has all earmarks of a scam. Eating only moose meat for dinner? The kids are getting free lunches at school. Maybe free breakfasts. Can't get a can of milk for the baby? Flights are in and out of Emmonak regularly. You're less than 500 miles from Anchorage. Can't afford milk? Where did the $19,000 go? Don't like what it costs? Well, none of us like what things cost these days - but the State gave each family over $19,000 two or three months ago (three months with direct deposit - two months by a check in the mail and the Fed qualified the single father of five for a $2,100 Economic Stimulus check in June, and the other family of six with a mother, father and two children for a $2,400 Economic Stimulus check in June. Your medical care is totally free to you. What other State, Federal, and/or Native Corporation benefits are you receiving? How long do you want others to support you?
