They don't care about water for farmers. They care about getting power.

Metropolitan Water District (Los Angeles) and Westside Water District (Los Banos farmers) are going to push through the canal project. They are ignoring the ramifications of putting more water down the Sacramento River. There are going to be class actions law suits like never before when 200 square miles of farmland becomes useless bog.
It will be cheaper to build an alternate conveyance for that water. It has been on the table since 1982 and ignored the whole time. |
