Did Americans reject clean energy by voting Republican?

There are 68 comments on the www.csmonitor.com story from Nov 4, 2010, titled Did Americans reject clean energy by voting Republican?. In it, www.csmonitor.com reports that:

US environmentalists concede disappointment at the GOP's surge, but say the defeat of California Prop. 23 shows voters were motivated by the economy and not a rejection of clean energy.

US environmentalists, assessing the Republican tsunami that washed over the country, chose Wednesday to tout a key Election Day victory in beating back California's Proposition 23, a ballot initiative that would have reversed clean-energy requirements statewide – and led quite possibly to similar initiatives in other states.

You have no proof, your idle speculaton is no proof, nor is it a solution to any problem.
Just as the way to losefat is to eat less, the way to eiminate greenhouse effects is to burn less.
Your "magic pill" like diet pills, is a false hope and just a placebo.
Just watch it is what we will do in the end when the failures don't work.

Your government would normally have the money to have a good safe municipal water system except that you liberal wacko's elected a bunch liberal democrats and they spent all the money on give away programs. That is why your state is broke and can't filter its water.

I've already seen what "you" do when "you" allowed the Saudis to knock down the World Trade Center; and then "you" blamed and attacked Iraq on a campaign based on lies.

I saw "you" ruin our economy by allowing unregulated greed to creat a gambling casino in our formerly regulated credit markets.

No thanks. Lies don't cut it.

Robert, there is an ever decreasing supply of potable waer in the entire west.

It has nothing to do with "liberal wackos" or "liberal democrats." You seem to think you are a minor god or ssomething. You're not. Your twisted politics are just not an answer to anyone's problems, except the super-wealthy.

California is bankrupt because of the fiscal raping she took from ENRON, when they manipulated power costs, and broke the state treasury.
Guess which president allowed that?

Everyone doesn't live in a warm, wet, green state like Georgia.

I did have to twist that logic a little so I could take a shot at California but they need it. Enron, you got to be kidding, California has high taxes but no money, so you think it all went to enron. What about 1 in 5 in LA County receivie public aid. California has 12% of the nation’s population, but 36% of the country’s TANF (“Temporary” Assistance for Needy Families) welfare recipients – more than the next 8 states combined. California, a destitute state, still gives away college education at fire sale prices. California community college tuition is by far the lowest in the nation. Nationwide, the average community college tuition is 4.5 times higher than California CC’s. This ridiculously low tuition devalues education to students – resulting in a 30+% drop rate for class completion. Moreover, 2/3 of California CC students pay no tuition at all – filling out a simple unverified “hardship” form that exempts them from any tuition payment, or receiving grants and tax credits for their full tuition. California offers thousands of absolutely free adult continuing education classes. In San Diego, over 1,400 classes for everything from baking pastries to ballroom dancing are offered totally at taxpayer expense. Did you know that It costs 38% more to build solar panels in California than in Tennessee – which is why European corporations have invested $2.3 billion in two Tennessee manufacturing plants to build solar panels. Why, because california has turned into a tax vacuum cleaner sucking up more and more from individuals and companies to pay for their excesses. Enron my ass, they can be blamed for a lot of things but California's hog wild spending is what caused their problems.

You may remember taht I told you that most of the country, including Georgia, is being subsidized by a few states. California is one of those few.

You are right 100%. MrBill in this case is wrong. Simple.
