Florida Judge Denies Call For Recount, But Allen West Continues Quest

A Florida judge on Friday denied Republican Rep. Allen West's last-ditch bid for a recount of early-voting ballots in the close and ugly re-election race he is losing to Democrat Patrick Murphy.

The St. Lucie County Canvassing Board has overuled the judge, ordering a retabulation of all eight days of early voter ballots in the county. And so they should, due to the irregularities in the counts on election night...as in, some early ballots were counted twice, some that were, uh..."missing" and since a quick recount of 1 day of early ballots already revealed that the count was, in fact, flawed.
You can hate all you want, but the voters are who decide elections. Everyone's vote should count, even in crooked St. Lucie County.
Recount starts at 9AM Saturday. If West (R) finds .5% more votes, all three counties in this race will have to be recounted.
That might prove interesting.

FORT PIERCE, Fla.- The St. Lucie County Canvassing Board agreed to retabulate all eight days of early voting late Friday after it discovered 304 ballots had not been counted.

The decision came hours after a St. Lucie County judge denied a request by U.S. Rep. Allen West for a full recount of early votes in the race for the 18th Congressional district.

The recount of every early vote cast for every race was expected to begin on Saturday morning and would include the three days of early voting that were retabulated earlier this week.

They should recount to just to find out where the problems are wether it's the process, equipment or fraud. To me a 500 vote swing or 20% deviation after the early vote recount should be enough to mandate a total recount. The judge did leave the door open for a recount with cause.
