Romney noted Monday in an appearance on “Fox and Friends” that releasing tax returns is voluntary and painted the Obama campaign’s demands as unreasonable. The president’s reelection team has repeatedly questioned why Romney was willing to furnish John McCain with 23 years of tax returns in 2008, while being vetted as a potential running mate, but is unwilling to share the same documents with the public.
John turned him down, makes you wonder, what mitt is hiding?

As I see it, the Mittster can simply 'shut up' Reid by releasing his 'alleged' missing returns that indicate otherwise. If there is nothing to hide, this should be a piece of cake. There is a no excuse for delay.
What is Romney's problem with this?
Most responsible Americans have their tax returns going back several years. President Nixon released his returns right away over 40 years ago.
Senator Reid did not gain his position by being a nice guy, nor by playing fair.
Reid came to politics with an honor streak, turning down a bribe from LaToya Jackson’s former manager and ex-husband Jack Gordon, who later was suspected in a bomb placed on Reid’s family car.
He’s dealt with the potential for illicit activity always on a straight and narrow, which is interesting considering he is from a state well known for corruption.
If Reid says that he’d gotten the information from a Bain investor, it is likely to be the case. Deception is not something found in his character.
If it were any other person on the Hill, we could be suspect. From the man who brought in the FBI over a matter of less than the price of a used car, it casts doubts on those who call it suspect.

Republicans’ pathological opposition to health care reform is motivated by the GOP’s fear that reform will demonstrate that government can be successful in improving the lives of everyday Americans.
Because of this fear, conservatives have sought to derail President Obama’s Affordable Care Act (“ACA”) through lawsuits, 31 separate and pointless votes by House Republicans to repeal the law, refusals by GOP Governors to implement various portions of the law, and more than a quarter-of-a-billion in advertising attacking the law.
