I heard this on the news... Hochul won because Corwin made a stupid move with the Davis fiasco and nobody thought Davis could win. Truth is - it was nothing but a cat fight between Corwin and Hochul and the voters are all too apathetic to demand competent candidates. She's bad; no SHE's bad; Davis is bad...

How about just one of these idiots standing up in front of the people saying we need to stop spending trillions of dollars on military operations in other countries; getting serious about terrorists and stuffing them with pork and sawing their heads off in front of TV cameras; pay government employees what the market allows; cap taxes by law and make everyone pay the same percentage regardless of what they make; mandatory prison for corrupt politicians.

Folks,

So Democrats think they can retake the House based upon the results of NY-26? That's defective reasoning! Proper reasoning is from the general to the specific.....NOT......from the specific to the general.

Besides, I have come to the conclusion this is pointless. The country is beyond repair. Both the people and the politicians are in a delusional state that this situation can be fixed by writing more Treasury obligations, promising more free stuff, blaming the rich and or the greedy corporations etc.

Just another sample of stupidity. In the San Diego area, the GSA spent $4 million on Chevy Volts.......they are tickled pink that they will save $160,000 per year on gasoline costs. This behavior is strikingly similar to my ex before she went BK.

The way I see it there are two irreconcilable positions.......the individualists (conservatives) and the collectivists (progressives). Several states such as New York and California will collapse due to the weight of their financial obligations. They will want the Federal government to intervene. States such as Texas et al. will object and the breakup of the nation will begin. About a decade ago the Russian Military College predicted the USA will split into four counties.

Enough of my commentary........I gotta go to Vermont. Vermont.......an extremely beautiful but rather bizarre place.

The past few elections I feel like I've had to vote for the lesser of 2 evils and not for someone that I actually respected or admired.
I hate having to cast a vote in order to block the really, really wrong person from getting in.
A vote for a smaller party would seem like a wasted vote (sorry Ian, no disrespect intended).
I think that the democrats are still not getting too arrogant about this win being a swing or trend back to their party. The voters are simply angry and into rigid-thinking.

In 2011, The New Yorker magazine reported that Grimm was the subject of an internal investigation into allegations he abused his authority as a FBI agent in a nightclub in 1999. According to the article, written by Evan Ratliff, the incident resulted from a dispute between Grimm and his date's husband. A former NYPD officer working as a bouncer at the time said that Grimm remarked about the husband, "Ill fing make him disappear where nobody will find him." Grimm reportedly then returned to the nightclub twice, pulled out his gun once, and brought FBI and NYPD officers the second time.

Grimm said the article was written by a reporter "on a witch hunt" and that "this incident was fully investigated and I was cleared of all of the ridiculous and absurd allegations. To further entertain this partisan attack on my exemplary career and service to this great nation would be to give [the allegation] credence, of which it deserves none." The New York police department and U.S. Justice Department have refused to release documents regarding the incident.[7][8][9] Ratliff subsequently released additional material corroborating his article.[10]
