The committee should have waited for Obama to actually DO something worthwhile, before presenting him with this award. Actions speak louder than words.

I am happy for Obama and all the nobel prize winners. Our opinions don't matter for the decision has already been made. The sad thing about most Americans is that we are never satisfied to see others recognized whether we believe the person was worthy or not.

My question to you would be, what have you done to make this world a better place? Beside being negative, how are you creating peace in this world or even within your own community? What is your contribution to peace on earth?

Earlier today, Boxer stunned the hosts on CNN when she stated that Repubs were no better than the Talaban, and Hamas.

The hosts seemed stunned that some one with so little dignity, any sense of decorum, or respect for the position of Senator represented an American State.

Then they remembered that she was one of those Calif Progressive Freaks and they just shrugged their shoulders in obvious disgust.

The CNN hosts seemed stunned at such a vile statement which showed just a lack of dignity or decorum.

Then they realized that she was one of those cold hearted Calif Progressives and they just shrugged their shoulders in disgust.

Missy E, What the Flying f***k have YOU ever done?

Obama has done nothing. Why praise a person on vision, rather than accomplishments? By your liberal logic, Every person on Earth who wants all nuclear weapons gone, wants a green society, wants world peace and a one-world government should ALL have the Prize!!!!!!!! Because they envisioned a better place.

Sorry, but your feel-good, politically correct ideologies are completely pointless. They will do nothing but set you up for failure in the real world...and they have.

We are AMERICANS. We give accolades to people who actually accomplish greatness, not just HOPE for it.

We are AMERICANS. We don't need to think like the rest of the world, the rest of the world thinks like us.

We are AMERICANS. We love our oil, not "green" technology.

We are AMERICANS. We love capitalism.

Period.

Missy E, tell us in excruciating detail what Obama has accomplished. Give us tangible acts he has done. I await your response.

Oh, and what makes you think that peace on Earth will be obtained? World peace is a pipe dream!!! It defies EVERYTHING that makes us animals...it defies EVERYTHING that makes us human. We are mammals. We love to f**k and we love to fight.

To "Soldier622" --
It's too bad you were one of the ones who "came back." As an ex-soldier myself, you sound like the type who would most likely have been put down by friendly fire and only feels best when going around killing people...or anything else that lives. Did you torture animals as a kid too?

Read some REAL U.S. history sometime and quit being a puppet for a corporate-controlled government that doesn't give a rats rectum about military personnel.

And please stop speaking for "ALL Americans"...you are in the clueless minority.

We must remember that the Nobel committee lost all credibility in 1994 when they awarded the Peace Prize to the worlds most heinous terrorist, Yasser Arafat. It was further degraded in 2002 when it was awarded to the worst president in US history, Jimmy Carter.

And just two years ago, hit bottom with the Prize going to Al Gore, the "inventor" of the internet. This is the man that held a worldwide concert to to raise money to combat global warming by using over 2 million gallons of jet fuel flying bands from country to country, and generated over 100,000 tons of garbage, all to raise money for two foundations, both of which he owns.

Now, it is given to Barack Obama, who was nominated just two weeks after being sworn in, for his "tireless efforts in the worldwide reduction of nuclear weapons". Are w to believe that he accomplished this amazing feat in a mere 14 days?

This is nothing more than a publicity stunt, enacted by a small group of Socialists that think Obama is the messiah. It is worthless, but Obama's PR machine will spin it like there's no tomorrow.

How to win the Nobel Peace Prize:

Barack Obama won the Nobel Peace Prize this morning. Over the last decade the only requirement to win the prize was that the nominee had to be critical of George W. Bush (see Al Gore, Mohamed El Baradei and Jimmy Carter).

President Obama has broken new ground here. Nominations for potential winners of the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize ended on February 1. The president took office only 12 days earlier on January 20.

Let’s take a look at the president’s first 12 days in the White House according to his public schedule to see what he did to deserve a Nobel Peace Prize:

January 20: Sworn in as president. Went to a parade. Partied.

January 21: Asked bureaucrats to re-write guidelines for information requests. Held an “open house” party at the White House.

January 22: Signed Executive Orders: Executive Branch workers to take ethics pledge; re-affirmed Army Field Manual techniques for interrogations; expressed desire to close Gitmo (how’s that working out?)

January 23: Ordered the release of federal funding to pay for abortions in foreign countries. Lunch with Joe Biden; met with Tim Geithner.

January 24: Budget meeting with economic team.

January 25: Skipped church.

January 26: Gave speech about jobs and energy. Met with Hillary Clinton. Attended Geithner's swearing in ceremony.

January 27: Met with Republicans. Spoke at a clock tower in Ohio.

January 28: Economic meetings in the morning, met with Defense secretary in the afternoon.

January 29: Signed Ledbetter Bill overturning Supreme Court decision on lawsuits over wages. Party in the State Room. Met with Biden.

January 30: Met economic advisers. Gave speech on Middle Class Working Families Task Force. Met with senior enlisted military officials.

January 31: Took the day off.

February 1: Skipped church. Threw a Super Bowl party.

So there you have it. The short path to the Nobel Peace Prize: Party, go to meetings, skip church, release federal funding to pay for abortions in foreign countries, party some more.

Good grief.

The teleprompter apology tour should have least given some credit to the U.S. for the 500,000 deaths in the Civil war to free the slaves, for saving the world in WW1&2 and for liberating Panama, Kuwaiti, Iraq and S. Korea as well as feeding much of the globe after climatic disasters.

I party all the time, go to meetings, and skip church. All I need to do now is give some money to foreign abortion clinics and I am in the club! Being a socialist is awesome!

I noticed that "missy" failed to respond to "soldier622" post and modest request. Could it be that "missy" has not responded because she too is looking for any of Obama's ACCOMPLISHMENTS????
