It should the first among our nuclear plants to be shut down preparatory to phase-out. Nuclear energy is ridiculously expensive, dangerous, and threatening.

Then WHY THE FREAK even re-open it??? It would seem that this would be a hazard in itself...causing an even greater concern, DON'T YA FREAKIN' THINK???

The 2200 MW of electricity produced by the plant and the 2000 people it gainfully employs, might have something to do with it, you think?

You bet! If the San Onofre nuclear power plant closes down, the electric rates for the California region that it supplies power to, will double!!!

I meant the profits of the utility, of course, but they WILL have to find a long-term solution to power needs before they shut down the plant, obviously.
