Conservatives file amendments that would derail DC same-sex relationship recognition laws

Full story: lezgetreal.com

It has been a busy week for the homophobes in Congress as several conservative lawmakers seem to think it is far more important to put the District's relationship recognition laws out of business then to fund a DC Metro that runs all night or does not derail and crash into itself. Monday several amendments were submitted to the House Rules Committee for the fiscal year 2010 concerning a D.C. appropriations bill that would mess about with D.C.’s recognition of same-sex marriages performed elsewhere and overturn the district’s current domestic partnership law.

These clowns are merely playing to their audience back home as none of these ugly amendments really stand a prayer of making the final version of any bill. They'll play up that that they are standing up for what's "right" for the press back in their home state while in actuality, the last we'll ever here of these is what we read right here...

No matter how many courts, councils or other groups state that this anti-gay bigotry is wrong, the hateful GOP/Christians will try to find more ways to legalize what they know to be wrong and what they are told is wrong even if that means Constitutional amendments to prevent the courts from effectuating what was in the Constitution to begin with.

Not every Muslim is a fundamental terrorist either. But, in both religions the hateful extremists have been allowed to become the vocal spokesmen tarnishing the entire belief system and turning it from a love based religion into one based on hatred.

In America the Muslim, Christian, Jew, and all people of faith is not the real problem! Many abuse the name Muslim, Christian, Jew an all faith -- this discriminate. Just because a congressman do not agree with you--- it do not make that congress person a homophobes or conservative lawmaker. These words discriminate as well. Many of you attack all faith and Americans that disagree with you! District’s relationship recognition laws were establish long 1779 or about.
SOMEONE FEEL THAT THE VOTE OF THE PEOPLE MATTER!
general election.
“Notwithstanding any provision of the District of Columbia Home Rule Act, any law enacted by the Council of the District of Columbia that recognizes any definition of marriage other than a union between one man and one woman shall be invalid unless approved by the electors of the District of Columbia in the first general election that follows the enactment of that law,” says the proposed amendment.

CONGRESS WORDS MATTER!
Congressman Patrick Murphy (politician)-Army Officer- NOT a Military Enlisted-man!

CONGRESSMAN YOU DO NOT WANT TO DISCRIMINATE! Congressman should you say--ALL AMERICANS ARE ACCEPTED/ ALLOWED TO OPENLY SERVED IN THE MILITARY IDENTIFIED BY NAME, RANK, OR S.S. NUMBER.

IF ANY MILITARY PERSON DISHONOR THE UCMJ LAWS WITH SEXUAL MISS CONDUCT THEY WILL BE DISHONORED OR HANDLE IN ACCORDANCE WITH MILITARY LAW! SEXUAL MISS CONDUCT!
THE MILITARY IS NOT HERE TO FIGHT YOUR DEFINITION OF SEXUAL ORIENTATION, GENDER, OR OTHER TERMS. THE MILITARY SHOULD NOT BE USED TO REDEFINE SEX, GENDER, SEXUAL ORIENTATION OR ATTACK OTHER ON THE SUBJECT. Again-- IF ANY MILITARY PERSON DISHONOR THE UCMJ LAWS WITH SEXUAL MISS CONDUCT THEY WILL BE DISHONORED OR HANDLE IN ACCORDANCE WITH MILITARY LAW! SEXUAL MISS CONDUCT

AGAIN--EACH MEMBER IN THE MILITARY IS ALLOWED TO OPENLY SERVED AS HUMANS IDENTIFY BY NAME, RANK AND SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER NOTHING MORE!

The ones who aren't let those that are speak as if they are the voice of the entire group, though. Silence equals complicity. I'm tired of hearing "not everyone is like that", so if you're not, speak out dammit! Why are you letting those you say don't represent you speak for you?

The lifetyle we are talking about here is commitment, monogamy, and marriage, since one's natural sexual orientation can never be deemed such.

Please explain why you think that marrying will increase the spread of disease. Since the majority of folks who have AIDS in the world are straight, are you also proposing to ban marriage for them as well, to help stop it's spread?

I would like to hear your logic behind these odd ideas.

Doncha love how that moron Obama is redefining "bipartisan" now?

NOW he defines it as "republican amendments" show a bipartisan support.

Ah, no Obama-blather-a-thon. It isn't.

He's trying to redefine it because he sees his numbers tanking.

He thinks if he can "spread the blame" for his assinine ideas, that will some how make them more PALITABLE.

WRONG.

Independents favor the GOP 39% to 19% now. Even Diego Hotline shows his support has tanked.

In this Diego poll, they find he’s lost support among Male voters (-15), INDEPENDENTS (-15!) and rural voters (-15!)

NJ gave him a 46% DISAPPROVAL (on 43% approved) And that's a BLUE state people. The GOP candidate is favord by 12 points now.

Virginia gave him a 52% DISAPPROVAL.

Ohio independents gave him a 56% DISAPPROVAL.

Rasmussen shows the GOP favored on the Congressional ballot now for the 3rd week.

49% OPPOSE Health Care overhaul, only 46% support it.

Even DIEGO shows the republicans picking up 2 points in the congressional ballot poll.

RCP shows the democrats only +4 now, down from highs of +18.

The nation is sending a major "phoeck you" to Obama and the democrats right now in polling.

Obama trying to redefine "bipartisan" isn't going to work.

Obama blathering at the nation that the stimulus plan HAD to be passed RIGHT NOW to keep unemployment down didn't work. His lies are being revealed about that plan he sold the nation.

Obama trying to bullsh*t the nation that Cap N Trade is a "jobs" bill isn't going to work.

Obama blathering about Health Care being the answer to a flagging economy isn't going to work.

People just don't believe him any more. And they don't like what Obama and the democrats are doing.

The only way for the democrats to save some of their jobs in 2010 is to STOP everything dead in its tracks and focus on a massive spending slash and massive tax cut.

Give US our OWN money back. Even HUNGARY understands that's how to spur growth.

This economy is 72% CONSUMER driven. But the democrats are just too stupid to understand it.

Take a cold hard look at Obama and the democrats. They're demonstrating their complete lack of understanding how this economy works.

Pretty scary, huh?

The answer NOW is to get RID of every democrat you can in 2010.

THAT'S how we get back on track.

Daily Horoscope for December 30

Taurus

It's no good - the prospect of visiting the post-Christmas sales has become too tempting for you to resist any longer. No matter what you're doing today, you'll try to squeeze in the opportunity to dash around some of your favourite shops and see what's on offer. You could snap up some bargains but you should guard against the urge to splurge on items that you don't really want or need. The price of something may have been slashed but the acid test is whether you'd still buy it if it were full price. If not, leave it in the shop!
