Okay, all you people that sit on unemployment for months, thanks for wanting to take more money from the state so we will never get out of this failing economy. Obviously asking you get a job is out of the question because you all complain your "over qualified" or "There is no one hiring". Well, last I checked Walmart is hiring, and there are several pages of jobs in the Press. I'm so fortunate to have a job so my taxes can go to pay for lazy Americans like yourselves to collect Unemployment, welfare, medicaid and the like. GET A JOB!!
are you living in the real world? no one and I mean no one is hiring you moron! also your tax money should go to help people who also payed taxes when they had jobs.

My claim was exhausted Dec.1; I was told by Fluid I would not have to apply but could claim weeks again Dec. 15. My info page showed no change, 0 balance. I e-mailed last week, no reply. Dec 15 tried to claim weeks, no weeks available. Couldn't make phone contact. Went to local office, received another number for unemployment office. Left two messages. Recieved return call this morning, claimed weeks with caller; HOWEVER, was told I would not be receiving a check as "system is not set-up"! I am to claim again Dec 29 and will eventually receive a check for all weeks claimed once system is "set-up". What is not set-up? The funding? When and who does set-up? The employed bureaucrats who will not be working much thru the holidays? What do I tell the elec company, the landlord, the children w/no tree? I don't get it- but I need it.

Unions got too big and too greedy. Now they must die. Too bad, because the idea behind forming a union is a valid one. But, as has been proven time and time again; Greed Kills.

People are struggling because they don't yet belong to a union. Once you get unionized your able to get what you deserve. It feels great to have the money and benefits you are entitled.

LOL! So the answer, in your opinion is for every American worker to join a labor Union??? I guess then everyone will be making big money and receiving fat benefits! And, unemployment will be very low and there will be no more poverty!!! lol

So the same Unions which have ruined manufacturing in this country, are going to save us all! LOL What a joke!

You have no idea how clueless you are. Educate yourself my friend, don't die stupid.

1. Jobs go overseas
2. Remaining companies shift the tax burden to individuals through the use of renaissance zone forbearances, tax incentives, and tax amnesty
3. Majority of jobs in country that pay anything are tax funded or subsidized; i.e. Education, Healthcare, and Civil Services
4. Legislators give taxpayers the other side of the double-edged sword by acting "conscionable" and providing perpetual unemployment and free college education for workers their trade policies displaced from their jobs
5. Taxpayers get the benefit of increased inflation due to additional national debt
6. Problem cannot be addressed since our educators are too stupid to operate in the black

Joe, You are 100% correct.
NOBODY can survive on Walmart's wages.
Go to the grocery store and check out the prices. One cannot avoid THAT cost.

It's easy for people who have good jobs to preach to the ones who don't.

I hate Walmart. I hope that damn store dies!

Don't bother trying to call them the lines are jammed all day everyday. Don't bother going to a "service center" unless you want to spend the entire day there to see someone if you are lucky. Some people wait in line only to be forced to leave at closing.

I agree to someone else post, this country is going to HELL fast. 8 years of a dolt for a president have took its toll.

For the unemployed who have exhausted both extensions, the state of MI has sent out applications for extended state benefits (EB).

Unfortunately, as I am still unemployed I applied for EB on the 16th of April. I did it online and I am still waiting to hear back from them. From what I have read, they might require another visit to a Michigan Works office in order to start receiving benefits. The benefits run up to 20 weeks.

I couldn't find any thread on Topix regarding the Michigan unemployment EB so I'm still posting on this 2 year old thread.
