Why would they want healthcare legislation? It would mostly benefit born people, and we KNOW the anti-choicers can't stomach BORN people. Fetuses are the only ones they care about.

And pro-aborts were shocked, shocked, I tell you, when blue-state voters -- notably the independents -- repudiated their zealotry by electing Scott Brown, who campaigned tirelessly as the 41st vote against Obamacare. How dare those serfs rise up and refuse to fund with their tax dollars the abortions that pro-aborts are too chintzy to subsidize themselves?

He campaigned. She did not.. Any wonder she lost.. That is why President Obama is ramping up the coming election campaigns to make sure that any one who loses does not do so stupidly as she did.

And as usual it is the fetus worshipers cheering what is against their own best interests... No surprise.. Just pathetic

If we contemplate the origin of the life we consider sacred we find that the further back we go the more it expands til eventually it encompasses all that exists.

The coming together of the sperm and the ovum is just one step in an infinite process of becoming that has no beginning and no end.

To say this one incident is holy while murdering those who focus on other priorities isn't just madness, it's real murder!

Of course life is precious! How is murdering doctors demonstrating anything but madness and confusion?

Abortion is a medical process. Murder is an insane act.

Now we have people who have defeated a measure that may have helped many children to live just to make sure that no fetus is allowed to die!

The anti-abortion movement is not pro-life!

It is pro-volcano god control of the lives of women by a patriarchal hierarchy formed long ago by brutal and savage warlords who took delight in bashing babie's heads against the rocks with the blessing of their god!

In spite of their feelings on abortion, the Catholic Bishops have again weighed in again favorably on the healthcare bill. In a Jan. 26 letter to Congress, they stated that
“Whatever the legislative process and vehicle, the U.S. Catholic bishops continue to urge the
House and Senate to adopt legislation that:
Ensures access to quality, affordable, life-giving health care for all; 
Retains longstanding requirements that federal funds not be used for elective abortions or
plans that include them, and effectively protects conscience rights; and,
Protects the access to health care that immigrants currently have and removes current barriers to access. In addition to meeting these moral criteria, restraining costs and applying them equitably across the spectrum of payers will make this bill more acceptable to more people. Although recently passed legislation in the House and Senate may not move forward in either of their current forms, there are provisions in the bills that should be included in—and some that should be removed from—any proposals for health care reform.”

If the bishops want to promulgate Christ's teachings, then they are logical to desire the best possible healthcare for everyone. However, Christ's teachings do not specify exactly HOW that is to be achieved.[Clerics are not trained as economists or diplomats.] Nor do His teachings specify how peace--though desired by sincere Christians-- should be achieved. If we had followed the bishops' august pronouncements during the Cold War, that conflict would be over, and the Soviet Union would have prevailed.
