There's nothing quite as effective as convicting and encarcerating the offenders to clear up this sort of glitch.

The idiots were trying to encourage buying but then put in regulations preventing the most qualified from taking advantage.

You're not even thinking beyond your little bubble.

Question: WHY did Congress create this?

Answer: To Encourage Home Buying to somehow stop the deflation & loss of equity.

Who cares which group of Americans took advantage of it. THINK!

And what would be wrong with convicting and jailing the people trying to perpetrate a fraud on the taxpayers to obtain this refund?

As long as they are Americans who have applied FAIRLY (and who actually qualify), I don't care. Now, if an American is trying to commit fraud to qualify or if the applicant is an illegal alien, I do care, and I think they should be found, arrested, convicted and jailed.

No one under 18 is buying a house...that is likely an illegal alien scum*bag moocher using the social of his anchor rat to perpetrate a fraud. Bzzzt! Do not pass Go. Do not collect $8k. Go directly to jail and then to deportation, along with the rest of the mooching family.

Qualifying is fine.

What I'm reminding people is that many an Obama/Bush/Congressional program has failed because the idiots EXCLUDED most Americans.

Furthermore, excluding everyone but 1st time buyers was really stupid. 1st time buyers are NOTORIOUSLY UNQUALIFIED FOR LOANS which is at the core of our financial melt down.

This should have been opened to all Americans since it was designed & implemented with the housing crisis in mind.

60% of cars sold under obama's clunkers program were foreign brands. obama has been quite effective at creating jobs for the Japanese and Koreans while creating massive national debt for America.
Maybe obama could pay the Japanese to take homes in the US and present the bill to the American middle class.

Another Government program with fraud in it! Who would have thunk it? LOL

Maybe they (Congress and Senate) should stop writing 1,000 plus page bills and actually write them in plain language, not lawyer talk crap, that even lawyers can’t agree on what it says!

How’s this for a plain bill?

An $8,000 credit is made available for ALL LEGAL U.S. CITIZENS to help in the purchase of a house. This credit may only be used once per person.

To assist in making these loans, all lending institutions most use the E-Verify System for ALL applicants.

If any lending institution makes a loan without using the E-Verify System, they will be fined 5 times the loan amount, for each loan that E-Verify was not used, even if made to Legal U.S. Citizens.

If it is found after the original lending institution sold the loan to another institution, that the originator never used the E-Verify System, the original lending institution will be fined $1 Million for every loan not in compliance. And ANY NON-LEGAL CITIZEN that is found to have used this credit will be deported immediately.

This credit is available to ALL U.S. CITIZENS, but preferential treatment will be given to First Time Home Buyers.
