Everyone knows that The Real Goal of AARP is to be a big (BIG) business, with highly paid officers and highly paid management, and with tax exempt status, and with a ridiculous amount of political leverage. They want to do this on your dime! AARP is involved in the 2nd oldest profession in the world---they resell other peoples products. As far as I can tell they do not manufacture anything. But they are salesmen for other companies insurance, cell phones, etc.
This could be done by a for-profit company and the gov't would receive tax revenues!

I didn't sign up with AARP because I disagreed with their promotion of the HCB. They certainly should lose their non-profit status. Their behavior was very suspect. Everyone knew they were pushing for changes which would help them and harm plans like Medica Advantage.

So AARP members should not vote for Republicans next election? Baby Boomers should know this help spread this to all the baby boomers.
We baby boomers have known that AARP is a left-wing organization for quite some time and we vote accordingly. Notice how many of us make up the Tea Party.

Sounds like a winning strategy.
Completely true! All the freeloaders will vote to tax the golden goose until it no longer lays any eggs. Then who they going to vote for einstein?

Because all those people are so stupid they have no opinions of their own, they'll just ask their fellow (Hispanics, Muslim Americans, African Americans, teachers, union members, senior citizens) what they think and that's what they'll think.
It's the same thing you do by listening to Hannity, Limbaugh and the other chicken hawks. You don't think for yourself; you just parrot them.

The same thing can be said about you. You might want to watch the video instead of offering kneejerk criticism. However, this would involve having an open mind which you clearly are against.

I Shred the eternal cards they send out. AARP is nothing more than a business and should be taxed as such.
Actually the AARP is worse then that.

The AARP was born out of rage that lead to a national protest against the Democrats for cutting Social Security and Medicare. That was when the Democrats cut a Sweet heart deal with the leaders of the AARP. Not only is the AARP allowed to collect membership dues it can also collect on the insurance it sells to its members. All they have to do is keep our seniors from asking too many questions and/or making trouble for the Democrats.

This allowed the Democrats to steal OUR Social Security Trust Fund to be used for their pet projects like when Jimmy Carter gave the Soviet Union 6 BILLION dollars from OUR Social Security Trust Fund.

If you are a member of the AARP drop your membership. If you are thinking about becoming a member don't waste your time and your Money.

I have a plan to restore OUR Social Security Trust Fund and protect from future attacks by our professional politicians.

an open mind is fine when you are delving into a subject which you have no knowledge about. IrishMn proves in his posts that he is well informed already.

Brilliant post Monica! Could not agree more. The blind that follow and pay membership to AARP have no clue that Soc. Sec./Medicare will require reform. I am not looking forward to it because reform will mean less benefit for me when I retire. However, I am a realist who knows we have to deal with this problem for the sake of our kids, grandkids, and country.

My father-in-law, and mother-in-law both shredded their AARP cards and mailed them back to AARP after AARP endorsed the Obama Care Plan.

How lame is your ideology that you expect everyone in various "groups" to all think alike and believe the same things. That's either stupid, sexist or racist, you pick.

I pick that it is all three.

The dirty little secret is that the Party of Diversity, The Big Tent Party, those fun loving Democrats are the Party of Racism, of Sexism, and prey on those with limited intelligence.
