"Americans who are working day and night to get back on their feet and support their families in these tough economic times deserve more than obstruction and partisan game-playing," Obama said in a statement Wednesday night.

Typical responce from a lightweight community orginizer.

Many leading economists will agree with what she said.

In fact, simple logic will tell you that people who receive an income of any sort tend to spend more than people without money.

DUH.

Hey assface...."unemployed " does not = "welfare freeloader".

The sooner idiots like you realize that, the sooner we can start becoming ONE NATION again instead of a nation of Fox News Morons.

Unemployment is just another form of welfare. Another way to get something for nothing. We have convinced ourselves that we deserve this money. We are somehow entitled to it. If a man doesn't work he doesn't eat.(Him or his family.)
So, let's stop feeling sorry for ourselves, get off our butts, and go get a job. The reason we have so many illegals in this country is because they will work and we are to good to do that job. Give me a break.

Hey idiot -- where do you think the money comes from? Do you really think Obama has a stash somewhere?

For idiots like you -- it comes from taxpayers that would rather go buy something for themselves to help the economy, not give it away to Obama to pass around.

Are you really that stupid? If you haven't had a job you can't collect unemployment. You have to have enough qualifying hours before you're eligible. I've been working and paying in to the unemployment fund for more than 35 years, you can bet your azz that if I find myself in a position where I need that assistance I'm going to take it and not feel bad at all about it, I've paid my dues. If I use the entire benefit that I'm entitled to and still haven't found a job and there's an extension offered I'll take that too.
People taking advantage of the welfare system is a different story. I have strong feelings about that but we'll save that discussion for a different time.

73 weeks times $300 per week. $21,900 is what it cost taxpayers for each leach vote for the democratic party. No wonder the lazy bastards won't take an honest job. Add that to the food stamps, heating assistance, WIC, and rent subsidies I can see why people wouldn't take $15.00 an hour job.

For the uneducated....

If you work, you contribute to unemployment compensation.

If you don't work, you can't collect it.

It is NOT welfare. It is a form of insurance that ALL workers pay into to receive when they need it.

It is quite obvious that some of you have never had to collect, so shut the fuck up.

The money comes from you working and paying into the plan. The money comes from any citizen who has a job and pays taxes.

As for crying about the government spending...where were all the tears about it when the GOP wanted to spend money hand over fist for military operations in countries we have no business being in in the first place? That crap costs 500 times what it costs to keep your fellow American citizens afloat in the economy that you and your fellow GOP dipshits create to benefit only the rich. Why not cry about the costs to keep bases in countries like Japan or Germany. I really doubt the world needs us to protect them from these two countries anymore. You close all those bases and you can pay off this bill in a day.

Excuse me, but only part of the money comes from what workers pay. The fund is pretty much broke and funds have to be taken from somewhere else or added to the deficit.

I don't mind people getting it. However, we also can't keep extending the length of time you can get it.

I also believe that people should work at least 10 hours per week when they get the funds. Yes, their main duty is to find another job and that takes time searching, and if lucky enough, going to interviews. However, you could also work 10 hours a week picking up litter, cleaning vacant lots, fixing up and painting homes of the elderly who can no longer afford to do so. Anything, just do something.

Welcome to the new welfare state of America.

This is another confirmation that Obama's policies have been a complete failure. After spending a trillion dollars in various economic stimuli, unemployment benefits, the economy is still struggling. Where are the green jobs and shovel-ready jobs?

What happened to pay-go that the Democrats were demanding a few months ago?
