Even though I don't need health insurance at the present time, I would've supported the bill had it not included the illegal aliens in the bill and no levying of penalties to those who choose not to have insurance.

What happens if you step off a curb and get hit by a bus? "Hopefully" for once Obama is telling the truth but why should he. He's batting a thousand with all the lies he and our government have already told us. Their all "trash"!! "AMERICA SAYS SO"!!

Any who dare disagree would be taken out into the street and beaten if Pelosi and her minions had their way. Remember she is a "calif" Democrat. There is no limit to their hatred.

Give Obama some credit. We aren't there yet. He may be all that stands between the American people and the vile Calif democrats vision for a filthy third world style future for our families. Look around and observe what they have done to California.

How can a person afford to pay if they already can't pay for food and housing?

The speech was clear and articulate AND inspiring!

The outburst was not acceptable and a simple apology is also not enough!

The Sgt at Arms should have called him out right then and there.

If a legislator cannot control their emotions listening to a simple speech they have no business representing the people.

The current FEHBP Federal Employee Health Benefit Plan is going from bad to worse.

Health care fraud is a huge problem. The "member or network" health care providers ABUSE THE SYSTEM WITH FRAUDULENT BILLING.

NO ONE TAKES ACTION.......FRAUD WASTE AND ABUSE CONTINUES.

A large version of this would be a disaster.

So, we're going to insure millions of people for health care, but it's not going to cost any money. Sure. We're going to have this huge government health care plan, but no illegal immigrants will be allowed to use it. Sure. Just like our schools and hospitals now?$600 billion will be saved from removing fraud and abuse from Medicare. Sure. As if they've been removing it for the past 50 years. Sure. As if removing $600 billion from Medicare is not going to affect service. Sure. The President wants a public option, and a requirement that all citizens purchase health care. There will be fines for those who don't. But the fines will be cheaper than joining the public option. So do they really think that employers won't choose the cheaper option and eliminate their healthcare costs, forcing their employees into the public option? Sure. The President says he wants bi-partisan support, and yet no Republican has been invited to the White House to discuss healthcare options since April. Sure. Anyone who believes any of this fantasy is simply not living in the real world. The truth of the matter, and the realities of the situation are quite different from what the President espoused last night.

The President politely read Congress the riot act.

He reminded them of their obligations to the American people.

He gets to use the signing statements when it is all said and done.

The Repubs sure looked like a sour bunch.

So American is going to turn away a sick child who is illegal. Or his parent who needs emergency treatment. How is this going to work? Nothing has been done before, so enlighten me, please. I still cannot grasp the concept of paying for this new bill. It is hard to believe anything anymore, as we never seem to get what we pay for. Yes, we need reform, but as Federal Employee says, the fraud has to stop first and foremost. This is costly to do, but in the long run, it will save money and possibly provide the average worker affordable and reliable care.

No. Merely stating that if you or me or anybody steps in front of a bus the survivability odds are slim. Threatening you? Sheesh, grow up already.

It's morally wrong to leave 100 million Americans un or underinsured, 1 illness away from financial ruin. And it's wrong to burden small business with the outrageous insurance costs also -- found a cool site; Balkingpoints ; incredible satellite view of earth

1.health care is a moral issue!
There should be no discussion on if and how other then it can not be "for profit", must be made available to all and can never be denied to legal persons.

2. illegally here? then to the county emergency r room you go because we Americans should NEVER let somebody die on the streets for this reason only.

3. look at what Western Europe has done..one healthcare entity, one provider with your choices for physicians and so on.
(and please save me the Rush limbaugh rhetoric of my grandma dying because the system determined so or the 8 month waiting period for open heart surgery!)

4. alternative plan? the same program as our "beloved" politicians have made available to us...after all it is our tax money!

VOTE 3rd party...get rid of the stalemate !

Big daddy Obama needs to stop his public patronizing. It's offensive. I makes him appear to be the sneaky sneak that he is. Disgusting tactic.

No one can be turned away from a public hospital. Those legal Americans that are under or not insured at all, are insured by that, if by nothing else. There is no way any legal American should ever go without the treatment they need for any illness. One of the very things the illegals take advantage of. So do I think health care reform is necessary no, not if we take the biggest drain off it and that is the over-load of illegals we now having using it. It's not the elderly legal citizens that are the problem, the very ones this advocates basically killing, but the millions that have no right to be here in the first place. It's may be the very well be worst thing I have ever seen our government do to this country!! They should hang their heads in shame.
