I disagree with HOW we're paying for this but am glad that those who are sincerely seeking employment receive these extended payments.
Now, for those not seeking......if you get caught (and you should be caught), I hope you go to prison. There's a lot of garbage on the roadsides that need cleaned up and you would be the perfect candidates.

So you want a 56 yr old college graduate & 35 year experienced professional to pick up garbage. You must be a proud Republican!

I truly feel bad for those who have lost thier jobs and havebeen unable to find other employment. I am lucky to still have (and feel fairly secure in) my job. But, 26 state paid weeks + 76 federally paid weeks? That seems a little much- especially given the fact that we are borrowing money hand over fist from China, without having any cohesive plan to get out of this debt and recession. History has shown us time and time again that the way to recover the economy is to cut taxes & reduce spending. But what are we doing now? The complete opposite. Wake up Obama administration! It's time to learn from our history, not "re-write" it as Mrs Obama is so fond of saying. We do not need a fundamental transformation... we need common sense solutions, including the ones that have worked in the past!

So you want a 56 year old college graduate and a 35 year old "experienced professional" to sit on their ass and collect money from the govt, while I pay for it? You must be a liberal.

If you're drawing unemployment and not seeking employment as per the required terms and conditions of receiving said employment benefits, are you or are you not breaking the law and stealing from the system? That's my understanding of the law so if that makes me a Republican in your eyes, so be it. That just tells me that you advocate stealing from the system then.
Please consider going back and re-reading my post. I clearly stated that I am happy for those WHO ARE SEEKING employment and believe those who are gaming the system should be jailed. If you're gaming the system, then yes, you should be jailed, as well; hince, my "roadside clean-up program" suggestion.
Since jailing people costs taxpayer money, there's no reason taxpayers should be paying folks who aren't attempting to contribute. They're getting paid not to sit on their behind, but to seek employment. It's not that hard to SEEK; it's hard to FIND.
I wish you luck in locating employment. As a 41 y/o with 23 years supply-chain and logistics experience with three degrees including an MBA, who was unemployed for six months last year, I can sympathize. Having busted my *** for those six months and the fear and worry of not being able to support my family, personally, I WILL NOT sympathize with those TAKING and not TRYING.
For the record, I am a conservative independant and believe that both parties are idiots; however, the Democrats are particularly moronic.
