Coolmind, really? I am a conservative and I love the idea of healthcare reform. My own grandmother who worked hard all her life nearly lost everything due to health problems including the first vehicle I ever signed my name too, which stuck with me for seven long years ruining my credit. The only problem is right now we can not afford it, I mean for god sakes China already owns are azz. Also surely theres a better model, we have already seen similar systems fail in many states, along with several countries. Im just saying slow down, take a breath, and lets put something together that EVERYONE believes will work.

I did'nt see anything about a threat on the Presidents life because "He's a black amn"(sic)
I'm neither Dem, nor Republican, but this Health care "Plan" seems pretty shady.
And I think as far as the so-called options....I doubt there will be any choice on the matter.
Now calling Somebody a Nazi, just because They don't agree with You is rather childish, and I can say the same thing about how the direction this Country's heading from the current Administration as well.

The people who are violent and rageful at these town hall meetings show the same kind of tactics used by angry whites in the 60s against african-americans--hanging people in effigy, holding up tombstones with congressional members' names on them, pushing/physically assaulting citizens, making death threats---all these tactics don't make sense. If they are angry about something, be productive--talk, listen, engage, communicate, discuss! I have a strong feeling this is not about health care but about some other issue--People showing up at these meetings have talking points printed out by organizations like FreedomWorks...attendees aren't voicing their own words or thoughts or opinions, they are repeating someone else's, word for word. This isn't about learning, about fixing, about solving a problem. This is about anger, plain and simple, and violence. And my question is--where is that anger/violence coming from? These people frighten me, they are not the kind of people I want to dictate policy, they can't listen or think for themselves. They can't get past their feelings, and will hurt someone in order to get their way. I don't understand it. Is it the misinformation from Fox and Palin--'obama will kill my down syndrome kid''obama will kill old people' and all that crap that has no logical or legal basis? I think people are using this issue as a front to vent their anger towards african-americans---these types of mob tactics, this kind of illogical confused anger with such passion, this lack of fact or reason...it is not based on reality. There is a subtext, and i suspect it is related to race. We white people are terrified of losing our privilege.

I just watched the video of the 4 men attacking African American conservative Kenneth Gladney who was selling American flag buttons at the Russ Carnahan (Dem) town hall meeting in St. Louis. Two of the attackers were wearing blue SEIU shirts and were video taped also attempting to intimidate by standers who were trying to come to the assistance of Mr. Gladney who was taken to the emergency room for injuries. Yes, the Obama call for his community action supporters has been accepted. The American public is continuing to be awakened to the corrupt Chicago Style thug politics!

Organizations like Freedom works are funded by the large health insurance companies with OUR health insurance premiums, you know the money they save by refusing to fully pay for necessary procedures. They are even paying people to be on blogs like this one all day trying to shut down anyone supporting health care reform. They act like Brown Shirts and other jack booted bullies of the past.

Though I think the bill really need to have time to be looked over and made the best it can be or look at other countries to see how their systems fair.

I'm sick of complaints calling it a handout. If you ever used insurance and you didn't pay whatever you spent into it, you're spending other people's money already.

We're already paying for health care of those who can't/don't pay, when your insurance is charged the hospital having you pay for the attention you recieved and for those that haven't paid, which is one of the reason a ambulance ride alone runs 400+ bucks easily.

The insurance companies don't have to pay anything, I know a few people who got hit with "pre-existing condition" which is really that they don't want to pay. Yet they can certainly hand over big bucks to politicians, and have them say whatever they want.

You can pay into insurance for years and still be screwed over to the point of bankruptcy ... most bankruptcies in America is because of health care.

I'm glad to be a healthy and young but one problem is if something was to happen and my insurance decided not to pay, it could destroy my life and everything I worked for.
