Effort to increase compensation for the wrongly convicted dead this year

An attempt to convince lawmakers to double the cap on the amount the state of Louisiana will pay people who are wrongly convicted of crimes, including four men who were recently exonerated in Jefferson Parish, is dead this session.
Pay them now. You have bigger crooks on the payroll in Baton Rouge.
