If what he says is true, that most of the licenses would go to convenience stores and small mom and pops and that the prices would be inflated, then why is that not the case in surrounding states? Booze is more plentiful and cheaper in those states.

Schnuck's, a grocery store in Bloomington, IL (pop. 73,000) has a liquor department that is easily 4 times the size of the local state store.

Osco Drug store has a liquor selection about half of the Schnuck's.
Maybe this will help put things in perspective.....
Name something the government runs better than private enterprise.
