<quoted text>14,000 people died from prescription overdoses in 2010 and that number is on the rise. They weren't famous nor does that even matter.
Even the Surgeon General said that prescription drugs are the greatest killer of Americans, hands down. Oh, yeah, and 99.9% of them are not famous so your little rant about pop/rock stars is just petty. This affects all Americans.
Illegal drugs like pot and cocaine aren't the problem; legal drugs are. If we were better educated in America, we could probably come up with a solution but we are so dumbed down (like you) that no one has a solution. Pathetic.
Amount of people in the United States who overdosed and died on "pot" was ZERO. Pick whatever year you want.

Yes I know. Even more ridiculous is the amount of money states like California are pulling in from legal pot sales and yet our government ignores prescription drug deaths and continues their war on pot.

The dumbing down of America is complete.
Thanks, republicans.
Go take a pill to celebrate.

What REALLY killed Whitney Houston WAS "Political Correctness". That is right!!!
Whitney Houstan had UNIVERSAL APPEAL and her singing talent was matchless. But, of course, to the "politically correct" knucleheads she was not black enough, or a sell out or too white. It is the same BS that they pull on any successful black individual who does not follow the Uncle Tom Plantation mythology symbolized by the likes of Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton.
As a result, to get Street Credibility, she marries "bad boy" Bobby Brown----a match made in PC HELL, the drugs and the booze started and the rest is history.
Christina Aguilera has a better voice than Whitney Houston.
So does Mariah Carey. So does every black women singing in church this morning.

The only difference between them and Whitney was that Whitney's relatives included Gladys Night and Aretha Franklin. Other than being a good singer, she was a crack ho and a pill ho who chose drugs over life.

No sympathy here and I hope to GOD this is the last we have to hear about a washed up singer whose last album TANKED and whose best gig at the Grammys was to sing at a pre-grammy party. Sad.
I wonder if Whitney killed herself the day before the grammys so she would be sure to get her 15 minutes at the grammys, even though it was post-mortem. Mission accomplished.

Bye bye Whitney. Loved your renditikon of the National Anthem at the '91 Superbowl but I think you've been strung out since. Too bad.

Can the news media finally put this to rest so we don't have to hear about this drug addled mediocrity anymore? She was only a pop singer for Christ's sake! It's not like she made a major contribution to western civilization! Too bad bobby brown didn't overdose with her!
