A few surprises during a very normal week

There are always a lot of surprising things which happen throughout each week in Woodland.

Jim, I attended Congressman Thompson meeting last week with the Chamber of Commerce. This meeting was a meeting with the Chamber and not designed for the public at large, although some like myself heard about it and attended. The Congressman spoke for 35 minutes of the one hour meeting. He did give his speach about HR3200. Later the same evening we called in to participate in the telephone town hall type meeting. The same speach was given over the phone. The screened calls fed directly into the same speach he gave to the Chamber. The Congressman made it a point that the screened calls were given to him by his staff from a remote location. Also, he thanked the people by telling them that he can reach thousands of more people by the telephone town hall meeting, then by holding a meeting face to face. I for one much prefer speaking to our elected officials face to face. Don't you?

Thompson's a coward - can't/won't face his constituants. Looks like they are all surprised that the American people are not liking getting the shaft AGAIN by Congress, they rarely have a problem with it.
