Dems to voters: You may hate us, but GOP is worse

Sep 17, 2010 Full story: The Topeka Capital-Journal 665

With just six weeks to avoid a possible election catastrophe, Democrats are trying to limit the damage with a closing argument that's more plea than platform: We know you voters are furious with us, but just let us explain why the Republicans would be worse.

Keep laughing you ignorant disinformation pig 'luciek Clarskville,TN #240, the March 2010, passed Healthcare Reform Law, is merely a template for 2014, and beyond fine-tuning! Meanwhile College/University students will be covered under their parents/gardians dependents Health Insurance coverage until age 26, across all 50 States; with current conscientiously premiums paying folks cannot be denied catastrophic illness/accident coverage; cannot have their coverage rescinded because of some long ago forgotten illness not reported on initial Medical History coverage documents; and the Medicare part D donut hole pharmaceuticals deductible has been closed, with $80 billion dollars contributed by the various drug companies, who evidently don't want folks to go to Universal Health Care Canada for Internet procurement much cheaper prescriptions!
In 2014, simply becasue of the March 2010 caveat, that all across 50 States, competive Health Insurance Companies/HMO middlemen proxies bids will be accepted for the about 35,000,000 currently not covered Americans! That means everything else remaining constant, there will be, just like mandatory automobile/trucks registration Liability Insurance, in many States like California, Insurance Companies/HMO's will get 35,000,000 new policy holders! More Doctors/Nurses will be employed especially in rural areas, currently unable to get competitive Health Insurance coverage!!
Don't underestimate the largest most powerful lobbying group on Capitol Hill, the AARP! After all, the average age of 100 Senators is 63, and the average age of 435 Representatives is slightly less! And it's SENIORS who have the most consistent largest voting booths attendees, in both Presidential, and Congressional elections ! And after irreversibly losing 1/2 of the value of their 401K's, SEP's, IRA's, Roth's, Keoghs, stock equity retirement holdings, inheritances to their children, grandchildren during the Fall of 2008 NYSE/OTC meltdown, they are not likely to vote Republicans in again!

US Rep. Gregory Meeks scolded immigration officials for questioning a Muslim scholar whose nonprofits have been linked to financing terrorism.
The Queens Democrat contacted federal agencies -- finally appealing to then-Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff -- asking why Anwar Hajjaj faced "unwarranted scrutiny" when he returned to the United States from trips abroad through JFK Airport.
Meeks described Hajjaj as a "highly regarded" professor of Islamic studies who leads Friday Muslim prayers at the Capitol.
Meeks said Hajjaj was "a pioneer in distance-based learning of Islam" through the American Open University in Virginia, according to a copy of the Sept. 30, 2006, letter to Chertoff, which was obtained by The Post under a Freedom of Information Act request.
But The Post has learned Hajjaj also headed the Taibah International Aid Association, a charity that has been accused of funding Osama bin Laden and al Qaeda. The group was co-founded by Abdullah A. bin Laden, Osama bin Laden's nephew, who has been investigated for his ties to groups that have funded al Qaeda and Hamas.
Hajjaj is also director of another Virginia-based nonprofit, the World Assembly of Muslim Youth International, or WAMY. It was also founded by bin Laden's nephew and said to support al Qaeda. The group's 2005 federal tax form, the most recent available, is signed by Hajjaj, who is listed as director.

Reagan took the national debt from $927 BILLION to $2.7 TRILLION. And this was the party of fiscal responsibility. As you can see he more than doubled it. Bush took it from $5.7 Trillion to $10.7 Trillion, almost doubling it. So, Obama should be okay to take the debt to $21 Trillion before anyone gets excited. I mean after all, we should follow the party of FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY.

I do not agree with Obama's spending either but there are parts beyond his control such as the decrease in tax receipt, the increase in interest on the national debt and Bush's medicare prescription plan which was never funded by any new revenue source.

You know what I would love to see, a chart showing the Reagan deficits adjusted to 2010 dollars. WOW, would that be a shocker. I googled it but didn't find anything. Will have to look some more.

Again, all the spending done by the party of fiscal responsibility, putting us in debt and then complaining about a democrat who inherited a crap economy as the one who is the problem. You need to look in the mirror for the real problem.

What does Obama or even Bush before him have to show for all the money they spent?

The answer is nothing.

This is not 1982.

What part of my 'triage' taking care of most immediate important aspects of the March 2010 'Health Insurance Reforms' Law first after about 7 million
Americans lost their jobs/careers during the Fall of 2008 NYSE/OTC Meltdown, and thus Health Insurance coverage, for themselves, and dependents,
let alone the ~35,000,000 perpetually uninsured Americans, "is merely a template for 2014, and beyond..." don't you understand illiterate neanderthal monkey 'Hidden History United States
#245'! By Tort reform, you mean medical malpractice maximum limit fiduciary duty Insurance liability, was well discussed on C-SPAN, during the pre. March 2010 debates, and a compromize could not be negociated at the time! Who knows it may come up again! But the 'triage' repair of a broken Health Insurance system whence Health Care Insurers/HMO's made over $45 billion dollars profit just last year, whence the U.S. spends 17.7 % of GNP, on Health Care, while the rest of the Western World Nations only 10.7%! And much lower in 3 shifts/day uncalibrated Manufacturing Outsourcing skilled blue-collar/white collar Technologists/middle management jobs/careers these past 40 years
37,000,000 to 55,000,000 Americans Labor to China, India, Japan, South Korea, Mexico, Canada, Taiwan, etc...!!

First of all, there is no need to call names like a child, i think you are grown so act it.
And just like auto insurance, what you and i pay for IS NOT REDUCED and is so expensive to get the full coverage needed. So Again, are you willing to pay for those who still won't afford it? Why should I again be forced to buy something i don't want or can afford? Will they also raise the pay for us to afford this. What about the parents? Why do they have to pick up the costs? And I will NOT vote democrats because I know what i want. I want the government to start being for the people! First one out will be obama, since to him, a muslim, it is ok to lie to the people, his family, church, whatever as long as he does not lie to his allah! Put that aside, He is not experienced enough to know the damage that he and his cronies have done to this country. And to tell me that for one who does not have insurance they get a fine, starting the day he signed yet not ineffect until 2014. What a deal! So again, who is going to pay to get all this done? WE THE PEOPLE! this also includes the small business owners $200,000 boundary!$200,000 is spit in the sand when they have to pay insurance for their employees, then the government tells the owner that HE TOO HAS TO HAVE Workman's comp! Why when he is the owner and he is the one to pay that to the employees? But obama did have the right step, i will give him that, but he needed to work at the very top when they make millions in profit! And make the welfare people work a little harder in locating ANY job they can find.

Yes, Reagan's increased spending did push Russia over although like all commie nations, they destroy themselves since the economics of communism don't work. At least you acknowledge he did spend. It's shocking to me the number of conservatives who don't believe it or deny it.

Your right, there is little to show for the spending. But, like the Reagan days, lots of the spending has gone to fund the military. We cannot cut spending without making significant cuts to the military. Plus, when a country is at war, cutting taxes is not the answer. War is supposed to require national sacrifice but ...
