yeah, what a hero of the liberals! nothing better than a representative that berates and mocks his constituents... i don't get why people like this guy. If you listen to him in that townhall meeting, he mocks this woman, then claims that he isn't putting anyone down. Then he admits he IS berating her, then denies it once again. If he doesn't suffer fools lightly, how does he stand being around himself all the time?

The woman gets up there and equates President Obama's goal to get healthcare to EVERY American when 1 in 5 right now has none, to being an act of Adolph Hitler and the NAZI's. How is trying to save lives, save money and keep people healthy (Healthcare) the equal to the policies of a bunch of genocidal mass murdering NAZI's?! Barney Frank was right, how nice it is that the 1st Amendment lets people like this woman and you, call the Presidents actions similar to the NAZI's who systematically murdered people. How is it that you DEMAND that Barney Frank behave civilly when clearly the woman he responded to, didn't believe in do the same. She did not come to that meeting looking for a calm, rational and civil discussion of the facts. She came with a picture of the President as a NAZI and then said his efforts to get American citizens healthcare was the same as gassing people and starting the worst war in human history. That woman came to the meeting spoiling for a fight, without any intention other than to villify Barney Frank and the President. She deserved exactly what she got. Eric

I've watched the video a couple of times and it's funnier each time I see it. To some degree I feel a bit sorry for the woman but then she was not well informed or showing much intelligence when she accused a Jew of supporting a Hitler program. I'm beginning to think that the only way you can get these people to think you have to embarrass them nationally first. Then maybe, and I mean maybe, they will do their own research and not fall for the lies.

Eric Agreed. But this is just one symptom of a much larger problem in this country. People that do not form opinions on their own but simply accept everything they hear on news or blog sites as truth. I often wonder how many of these people do this simply to disrupt things and how many do it because they actually BELIEVE what they are saying. Based on the passion in her voice, I am going to guess the latter. And if anything thinks that these tactics do no harm.. Finally! Someone with enough guts to call it as he sees it. That ridiculous woman needed to be told that. Honestly, if you're that stupid to believe equating health care with the Nazis, well, the old saying still applies "The gene pool could use a little chlorine".

i love him i love him i love him!!! he's bright...quick on his feet...and done infinately more for his constituents and this country than that moron woman or right wingers who love to blame him and obama, however unfairly, for all our ills. SOMEONE HAD TO HAVE THE BALLS TO TAKE A STAND AGAINST RUDE BEHAVIOR and barney did it. does anyone even know *exactly* what the healthcare proposal is?????????? i'd really love to see what the administration originally proposed, and how its gotten whittled down over time, and who whittled it.

Barney Stinson wrote: yeah, what a hero of the liberals! nothing better than a representative that berates and mocks his constituents... Constituent? I sincerely doubt she voted for him. Anyone who compares Obama to Hitler needs a strong refresher on what occurred during WWII. i don't get why people like this guy. If you listen to him in that townhall meeting, he mocks this woman, then claims that he isn't putting anyone down. Then he admits he IS berating her, then denies it once again. If he doesn't suffer fools lightly, how does he stand being around himself all the time? Why do you ask rhetorical questions? Town hall meetings were installed to discuss the ongoing health care dilemma, and gain an understanding of Obama's plan. She, on the other hand, was looking for attention and did nothing more than quote Limbaugh's and Palin's outlandish philosophies. As for Barney, I know little about him; I'm aware of his sexual orientation, his democratic mindset, and his annoying lisp. He's a politician.

Both side though share some of the blame, right and left. The Right however, has a lot more blame to be laid at it's feet. That we have NOT seen Rush Limbaugh, O'Reilly, Hannity or Beck decry this particular incident - is the most telling. In this instance, silence is tacit approval and acceptance. That is wrong. The reality is that most of us are neither right nor left, but centrists. The reality is most of us REALLY WANT answers, clear, honest answers. Most of us WANT civil dialogue. For myself, I WANT to know what others are thinking and I would greatly prefer to engage in civil and respectful dialogue, even if we disagree. That's why I come to Topix. I've actually managed to have civil discourse with people and it's been great - and we've still disagreed. We need to reintroduce the concept of courtesy and respect. Eric

This discussion is about the exchange between Mr. Frank and a woman (who it has not been established is one of his constituents) who called the Obama Health reform proposal equal to the NAZI's and showed a picture of the President done up as a NAZI. So, was the woman right? Was Barney right in his response? And despite your opinion of both Barney Frank and the Kennedy's, they have done quite a lot of good for this nation and their specific constituents. Eric

Eric The woman has a RIGHT to compare Barney Frank to a Nazi. I do not recall any similar objections from the liberals when the same thing was done to George Buy and other Republicans. "DEMOCRATIC PARTY". Now THERE'S an oxymoron. They have "SUPERdelegates" (unlike the Republican who just give 1 vote to each person equally).

Always cracks me up when the conservatives like this woman overextend themselves and reveal the shear stupidity of their beliefs. Obama and Hitler, hmmm yeah kissing cousins. Barney has a right to pick this woman apart for a belief system that is not based on truth, facts, or critical thinking even in differencers. Hers is a belief system of hatred, fear, and the unsettling belief that only those that believe like her are good and the rest are evil or bad. She demonizes Obama her judgement and stupidity should be displayed for the world to see.

Funny he had no problem with with the detestable things that were done and said to the Bush's and Condi Rice,“USA Is #1 Terrorist,”“Bush Is a Terrorist,” and “The NYPD Are Terrorists Too.” Protesters who claimed 9/11 was a Bush plot,“like when Hitler burned down the Reichstag,” and argued Bush would “build a worldwide planetary death machine.” They certainly have a short memory! In Feburary 2003, CNN donated two hours of programming,“Voices of Dissent,” to another International ANSWER event. Correspondent Maria Hinojosa enthused:“It’s an extraordinarily diverse crowd. I have seen elderly men and women with mink coats carrying their posters.” ABC’s John McKenzie painted the protesters as idealistic:“So many voices, filling the streets, struggling to be heard.” In October 2003, the far left rallied again in Washington, this time with a rapper leading a chant of “F**k George Bush!” and speakers praising Cuban dictator Fidel Castro. The next day’s Washington Post ignored all of that in favor of a soft feature:“In D.C., a Diverse Mix Rouses War Protest.” SHORT MEMORY INDEED!
