Or perhaps it provides needed checks and balances. Why should the Legislators get to decide their districts? I don't particularly care if it's an independent citizen board, but it should not be the Legislature itself.I see, so as an Ex-Liberal, the best solution is clearly to make an additional quasi-governmental body of people with their own agendas to fix the problem of gerrymandering, that has been around since the 70s.
What happened to small government?
The reality is Republicans are in favor of this because it gives them the chance to squeeze more reps out of a state that is decidedly Democratic by population.
The proposed solution seems reasonable to me.
