well, I understand how the word was used, and it could have applied to a man too. but it was unfortunate - what fool is calling Grayson a liberal "leader"? sounds like a right-wing rag web-site. Grayson may be a helpful rabblerouser when folks are tired and need a stem-winding speech without much restraint. but he is no leader. and just because someone is outspoken against the bad guys, and loud and gets publicity, that is not a liberal. There is a liberal attitude and agenda, with a certain degee of disagreement allowed. But there are differences between Establishment liberals, progressives, populists, Southern moderates who are liberal considering the history of their states and districts, academic liberals, demagogue liberals, idealistic ones, and naive ones. I consider myself more of a progressive populist, but with some academic and even elitist tendencies - in a grass-roots sort of way since I support opera and symphonic music for everyone, and not for just the rich and the social elites, and I don't mind seeing music and art and dance popularized a bit. I like ballet, but also watch Dancing with the Stars. Other liberal types - I prefer the word progrssive - will probably disagree with me on some things, and the tolerance of and cooperation with folks we disagree with is another part of what I call a good liberal attitude. The sort of "my way or the highway" attitude that I disliked in Bush and Cheney, is unacceptable if taken by a so-called liberal too. In short, I am no fan of Grayson.

Why didn't you just say that, then? MAN, you're long winded, not saying much in the process. Did we really need your life story?

Nice attempt to provide cover, but as an elected Representative, Grayson is by definition a leader.

I agree with Grayson on auditing the Federal Reserve but what he said was one of the most unprofessional statements I have ever heard from someone that is suppose to be representing Americans. He owes that lady an apology along with all Americans for making a mockery out of our system.

Alan Grayson walks into a bar with a chicken on his shoulder. Bartender says, Hey! you can't bring that pig in here! Grayson said you must be a dumb ass Republican, it's a chicken, not a pig. Bartender says, Sorry, I was talking to the chicken.

Once again Grayson has shown himself to be an embarassment to the people who elected him.
Hopefully they won't make that same mistake again next time in the voting booth.

He's a glory hound, and an attack dog. He uses words to get attention. I don't like some of his tactics, but once he's got you by the teeth, he won't let go, and he will make your life miserable. Barney Frank keeps asking him to yield the floor, and he tells him NO! We need more of our representatives standing up to the Pelosi's, Reid's and Barney Franks and get answers, real answers, not double talk. when they don't like your questions, they ask you to yield. He says hell no I won't go. Now about the K street whore incident. He wasn't calling her a whore literally. You have to know what's on K street. That's where the lobbyists hang out. She knew what he was accusing her of. We need more attack dogs instead of pussycats in congress. Don't get caught up in a word, or who said it, understand the context in which it was said. Trust me the Democrats hate him more, because he holds their feet to the fire when he wants answers.

Excuse me, but do you mind telling us exactly what views you actually support? Do you just like Grayson because he is a trouble-maker, or do you have some view that agrees with him? I like people who think outside the box, but not those who think they are entitled to violate the rules of the House. Ron Paul thinks outside the box, and I like that even when I disagee with him, but I have never seen him be a disruptive loudmouth. Sounds to me like you are a right-wiong type, happy to have an internal Demcoratic battle - against Pelosi, Reid, and Barney Frank. Or else maybe you are a looney leftie? It is unclear. I do not mind Dennis Kucinich or even Wexler being outspoken and demanding answers to questions, but Grayson is not like them. You are quite correct in some of your comment, so you are worth questioning as to "where you are coming from." You were right about K street being a place of lobbyists, and the term whore being a reference to being sold out to big special interests, instead of a sexist term, as the person who wrote the headline tried to make us think. I happen to think that there should be more investigations of the high crimes and misdemeaners of the Bush Administration - are those the kinds of questions you want answered? Please clarify. Barney Frank is as strongly in favor of regulating the crooks in the big financial institutions as one can be, and still have a chance to get a bill passed - just look at the bills coming out of the Fionancial Services Committee. The right-wing loves to lie about him and blame him because they are pandering to homophobes, don't you get that? The Hagel bill was stopped by Republicans, not Democrats, in the Senate, and by a big GOP lobbying firm, yet the Republicans blame Frank. Senate Republicans all voted for repeal of Glass Steigel, and only Hollings among Democrats voted for that disasterous repeal.(I have not seen the House vote - and will try to find it). Cinton was being triangulated at the time - with that scum Dick Morris advising him, I think - and tried to cooperate with the GOP Congress when he should have vetoed bills. I was no big Clinton supporter either. Tell us who else you like, besides Grayson, and more on what your views are, so we know what you are for substantively, and not merely for trouble-makers.

You are buying into the right-wing implication that he was attacking her as a sexist attack on a woman, rather than an anti-special intersts attack on a lobbyist for big special interests. He should have had enough sense not to do it, however. He owes his apology to the House of Representatives, for what he said on the floor of the House, in violation of House rules. I don't care whether he apologiezes to her or not - and I think it is doubtful whether she is a "lady" anyhow. A woman, yes - but I bet she does not have the characteristics one usually associates with the term lady. Just as he does not seem to be a gentleman.

I lived in Washington and saw how low in status and influence most new members of the House are. If a few people are nutty enough to follow Grayson, that is their problem. A Representative is not even elected to be a leader. Most people want them to be ombudsmen! to help with constituent services. Others expect them to be dumb followers of uninformed emotional mob-spirited so-called public opinion in their districts. The emcoratic freshmen members of the House have a regular weekly one hour Special Order, to discuss issues, and they have a chance to show how informed and thoughtful they are, and many do. I have never seen Grayson participate. He is a loner grandstander, not a part of the group. My guess is that he is quite isolated, and unpopular in the House - I saw what Rep. Weiner of N. Y. said about him, quoted in the article on the topic about Grayson complaining about Fox stalking him. We'll se what a bunch of Florida Demcorats think of him, when they go to his rallies and cheer for him. We will see what many more Florida Democrats in his district think of him if they have the opportunity to vote against him in a primary, as I hope they will.

Lots of what he says is unprofessional. If he is for auditing the Federal Reserve then that is reason to be looking for a more nuanced way to approach that issue. He is so simplistic!

Grayson is an embarassment to the class-act Democrats in Florida, and a distraction that hurts the Democratic party. He needs to be repudiated by Democrats themselves, and defeated in a primary. The emphasis needs to be on the Crist-Rubio battle, and on the primary for Governor, and then on issues and policies, advocated by the winning candidates for each office, including the House. Politics and government are too serious for ego-maniac buffoons to be capturing all the attention with their silly side-shows. Democrats should be able to point to
Michele Bachmann as a nut-case, without having to admit to having an equal nut in our party!

I do not see Grayson even as a liberal, let alone a leader. It is the anti-government and anti-political party crowd that like these show-offs. People who want politics and government to function to solve problems, don't like these light-weights. There are high-class people who ask probing questions. The nut-cases just make a fuss and get the attention of the media, which wants a good show, with no substance.

haha. Do you think volume helps? The more you flounder around, denying that Grayson is, in fact, one of the Democrat leaders the funnier you become.
