Schiff battles tea party and libertarian in race

Incumbent Adam Schiff is being challenged by two political newcomers on the right, Republican John Colbert and Libertarian William Cushing, in the 29th Congressional District race.

Really? Has she read the diatribe against Colbert that I received in the mail a couple of weeks ago above Schiff''s signature? I've always seen Schiff as a milqutoast congressman but I, like a majority of Americans believe that the administration and congess is heading in the wrong direction. Time to turn things around.

PSN at least asked all the candidates the same questions. Having said that, Maureen Shanahan is not Adam Schiff and illegal immigration and bipartisan cooperation promised by Obama in 2008 are not now the main issues.

What is relevant is whether Schiff voted for ObamaCare, TARP, the Stimulus package, the auto bailout, the "Cash for Clunkers", the "Cap and Trade" bill, etc. Everyone knows the"Blue Dogs" sold their fiscally conservative constituents down the river on ObamaCare and the Stimulus.

And where's the article for Portantino and Day? And soon, the city elections. Budget deficits (tax and spend) and pension reform questions are very relevant questions in both elections.

Adam Schiff is doing great work in my opinion. The guy is very available, listens to local people and their concerns so he is connected and represents us well, and he is strong on environmental issues and that counts more and more these days. I think he does us proud. I'm supporting him.

Why is it I Adam Schiff seems to be so totally unavailable these days and hiding behind his staff? Even the Star-News seems unable to reach him. I go to his website and can't find any campaign events, but I go to Colbert's page and there are lots ( http://www.johncolbertforcongress.com/Event-C... ).

Perhaps Schiff is afraid that if he has an actual event, where, you know, you might actually meet real live people, that one of those people might ask him some uncomfortable questions, like about his votes to bankrupt the country with Obamacare and absurd bailouts.

I didn't know that Schiff was a blue dog, that is news to me, whenever I wrote to him about the issues,(bailouts, health care bill, cap & trade, government funding abortion, etc) just to mention a few, all I got was an insulting generic letter, and his voting, which is in the record, was never of a blue dog, not even close, I don't doubt he may have done some good things for a very select group of people and individuals, but in the general consensus, the people's concerns fell on deaf ears, his voting record it's always been partisan, and this not represent, the people of the 29th district, so if you want to vote for true representation in Washington, you have to vote for John Colbert, a true representative of, we the people.

Schiff, like Antonovich, live off of the Armenian vote. It has nothing to do with being Republican or Democrat as much as it has to do with public corruption. Schiff is racist and corrupt but his corruptness is subtle. He allowed the CDC to corrupt well intended Federal programs like ones from HUD so that developers that give political campaigns can maximize their profits at the expense of hard working minorities.

Colbert should replace him.
