Pasadena has been a focal point of Democratic politcal action for decades. I know, I worked in some of the political campaigns dating back to 1978.

The Pasadena of today is becoming mostly Democratic. The mayor, and five city council members from Districts 1, 2, 3, 5, and 6 are Democrats. The US Representative, State Senator, and State Assemblymember representing Pasadena are Democrat. The Pasadena of the 20th Century was represented by Republicans in the State Senate and Assembly and US House of Representatives.

Once again the conservatives in the country build solid things that last, grow and produce life and quality, and the liberals take it over and claim it as theirs. Then when they finish ruining it, they complain and move to the next solid area the conservatives have built. Look at the ten poorest cities in the US today- every one has been Democratic for decades.
