3 points re. this article:
1.) Only Armenian immigrants are living in Pasadena?
How can you be so sure, that no Turkish immigrants are living in this city?
Perhaps they could be offended ... are they not American citizens like the Armenian immigrants?
2.) Turkey 'interfering' into the city affairs?
What the article does not mention is that the Turkish-American Friendship Association complaint to the Turkish Consulate, that it believed the approval procedures would be not respected. Based on this complaint, Turkish officials considered taking the step of asking about the official city procedures for the approval of such an request!
BTW, completely in the same way how Armenian officials are always at hand to assist and intervene where it is possible and necessary (in their opinion) to support the genocide claims. Just read the Armenian press and no further explanations are necessary to show how active the Armenian officials are abroad.
Not to forget the multi-million Armenian lobbying machine which is active especially in California!!!

3.) My final point is an observation:
The author draw attention to (in his/her opinion) the important fact that in Pasadena live since 120 years Armenians....
Well what means .any school child is able to make some maths to realize that already before the so called 'genocide' Armenians emigrated to America!!!
If you ask the Armenians, there were no Armenians in America before the genocide, although all Armenians living in present in the States are claiming that they are all decedents of genocide survivors .
But much more important, the Turkish government always stated that large numbers of Ottoman citizens of all backgrounds emigrated to the Americas in the decades prior to WWI, including Armenians...
Not for political or any discriminatory reasons simply for economical motives .there were no jobs, there was famine, fathers could not feed their families etc
Many Ottomans of all Milliyets emigrated, including Turks, Arabs, Greeks, Assyrians, Balkan people, ARMENIANS etc..
to be continued ./.

Hereby, the author of this article confirmed this fact.
I know, the Armenians on this forum immediately will do everything to disprove my finding.
However, before somebody considers such a step, I would like to remind about the large population of "El-Turco's" in Latin & South America...
All emigrants from the Ottoman Empire (Muslim, Jew or Christian) became this nickname because at that time they all travelled with Ottoman Passports!
But of course the Armenian genocide historians like to ignore this fact, like many others too!!!
