I am sure Michael Collins never killed any member of his enemies. You people are very selective in who you stand behind. When you are at war people die. Hopefully they have an honorable cause. As soon as the jobs became available, and money was there they joined hands and sang songs for their cause.

IRA terrorists murdering civilians and policemen is not a war.

Lloyd George was unable to send any soldiers to restore law and order in Ireland in 1919 as it would have risked allowing the IRA's failed terrorist campaign of murder to be viewed as a war situation.

My Husband's uncle was IRA. He came to America to save his Irish butt. Any time you have 2 sides shooting, and killing each other for whatever their cause, you have war.

My great-grandfather enlisted with the Black and Tans after he was demobbed from the 10th Irish Division at the end of World War I. He later helped the pro-Treaty terrorists defeat the anti-Treaty terrorists in the civil war.

So after all the killing, and maiming over the years who won? No one. The ones who could have been hung came to America, got jobs became good citizens, and never looked back. Uncle Daniel was a better American then millions I see standing around today with their hands out waiting for their freebies.

Did they decapitate him? I am sure they killed a lot of people. They thought they were at war. there were killings on both sides in Ireland.
Cat, you have made some excellent points. The Irish civil war was not based solely upon religion. It was based on a desire for self rule and economic equality. The British had controlled and manipulated the Irish economy to a point of the native Irish, who happened to be catholic, in poverty. A person only has to look at the potato failure to see how heartless the British truly behaved.
The little reading I have done on the Islamic extremeists indicates they desire to kill anyone and everyone who does not follow Islam or is unwilling to convert.
Now the bigots will attack. Most are imbeciles and cannot read or cannot possibly be expected to comprehend anything they do read.

Cat74, I love winding up these idiots and reading their uninformed, ignorant rants. Hysterical. Try and find some idiot named Eileen, she is truly an idiotic riot!

Ireland had already been given Home Rule in 1914 but IRA terrorists still began murdering Irish people in the Easter Rising.

Home Rule 1914 yet the planted prods still got the jobs and the native Irish were kept in poverty. What will you tell us next, there was absolutely no food in Ireland during the potato blight that was the cause for so many deaths? Fool.
