Yes, It is always correct to follow the letter of the law, with that liberty, and that word for all. Gee what a shame the deer escaped, with a potential to survive in the wild. Oh yeah the word is JUSTICE. Give these people a break.

Gov. Pence said, "At first look, it appears the DNR acted appropriately. Most of you are aware, Indiana Law prohibits the possession of wild animals!!" http://www.indystar.com/article/20130130/NEWS... "Most of you are aware" Would you not think that Jeff Counsellor, police officer trained to enforce city, state and federal laws would be very much aware of the misdemeanor crime committed for a period of 2 years in housing and possession of the wildlife, fawn (Dani). How can Counsellor continue to serve when his creditability as a police officer hold no merit, being a law breaker and a criminal. A warm heart for nature you say? You or I can cultivate marijuana for terminal cancer victims. That is warm hearted, but still ILLEGAL!! The law is the law!!

Wehave many idiotic laws where animals are concerned. This couplews chared with caring for a wounded animal, which then REFUSED to stay away from them. However, at least once a year, the state allows wholesale slaughter of deer for "conservation" reasons. So, helping animals = bad; blowing them to hell = good.

Gotta love redneck law.
