I really doubt that. It was totally irresponsible for the authorities to know he had a gun and shot at people and had also beaten a dog and let him keep the gun while waiting for the court case. This was just wrong and got a man killed and a boy kidnapped.

Your proposal is discrimination to the poor that want to protect their family and property. How about the wounded warrior that was severely injured protecting your rights and came home with injuries that are life altering and is unable to get a high paying job to pay for those taxes on the "assault" weapon he might want or the ammo for that firearm? You can just go tell him to go eff himself because he obviously doesn't deserve it because he can't pay those taxes and is barely able to get by on the low pay he has earned for willingly risk his life so you can debate this topic. After all as some sh**birds would say he's not that injured and what he did doesn't matter and the government is taking great care of him. Which is complete sarcasm by the way.(Sad some people do feel that way though) I can keep going on about my poor brothers and sisters that have been wounded or Kilo India Alpha doing a service for this country most people wouldn't even think about doing sorry for going off on a tangent but hope it helps with getting my point across

Thanks for your service. I've been a warrior myself and fortunately by the grace of God not wounded. It doesn't discriminate against anyone. Stop acting like there isn't already a billion guns in this country. You can find a handgun anywhere for almost nothing now. Those that want them have had plenty of time to get them.
I'm not talking about a 5,000 handgun. Maybe a 5,000 AR though. What's your answer beside pissing on every idea to solve a bad situation? Even you have to admit its gotten out of control with all the guns these days. Nobody fist fights anymore. Few people know how to even communicate through a disagreement. We simply let it build up to the point that grabbing a gun and ending a life is a pretty easy thing to do.
I'm not talking about taking guns away from people. I'm talking about slowing the pace of the deadliest weapons into our society (or at least exchanging it for something else that helps our country).

Cmon man this Guy is obviously crazy as f**k. His 2nd amendment rights should have been taken away from him the first time he displayed violent behavior. It wasn't and that's the laws fault he was already known as a nutcase before and nothing was done about it.

Maybe if the judges and prosecutors upheld laws and put criminals to death we could begin to eliminate some of this violence. I am more careful of my surroundings then ever before. I vote to renew the ban on all assault firearms. I doubt if an AR 15 is necessary to hunt. My prayer is for the child to be alive no matter what. I admit I do not have all the answers but in the meantime I watch my back and that of my children. No argument was ever settled in the Old West days by quick draw. Only one was left standing if they were lucky.

Why should his 2nd amendment rights be taken away? Where does it say only sane people have the right to bear arms?

See, that's the problem with you gun nutters. You only think OTHER crazy people shouldn't have guns. I guess it all depends on your definition of "crazy". I'd say anyone who owns or wants to buy an assault weapon is crazy, so using your logic then we can ban all THOSE crazy people too.

His 2nd amendment rights should be taken away from him because he broke the law when he decided to discharge his firearm over an argument. Any normal responsible sane person would only do that if their life was threatened. That man should have been locked up when he first initiated his attack on the citizens in his community. What does that have to do with a law abiding citizen like myself who would only have my assault weapon locked in my safe or at the range. Why should some psycho dictate my rights. His feeble mind should not effect that of the good people.

So 2nd amendment rights CAN be taken away?

Now that we've established that, it's just a matter of where to draw the line.

As I said, I consider anyone who owns or wants to own an assault weapon to be just as psychotic.

If YOU can judge HIM, then who are YOU to say I'M wrong judging YOU?

Everyone has the right to judge him now he made it that way when he acted out in the past. It's known as a fact that this man has severe mental problems. I on the other hand do not. My mental and criminal records speak for themselves. Clean as a whistle. This whole associating assault weapons with psychiatric problems just doesn't fly. It's a weapon not an evil demon.

Obviously assault weapons aren't "evil", since they are inanimate objects.

However, I'd disagree that you are mentally "clean as a whistle" if you currently own or desire to buy an assault weapon. Would you consider someone who wants a tactical nuke or a sarin gas bomb to be "clean as a whistle" just because they haven't committed any crimes YET??

YET??

Bottom line, as far as I'm concerned, anyone who currently owns or wants to buy an asaault weapon has already "acted out". I have yet to meet a single person who owns a AR-15 who isn't a survivalist conspiracy theorist nutjob who thinks the govt is out to get them or is waiting for the collapse of society so they can go all Black Ops.

Wacko nutjobs, all of you.

Maybe a little less praying and a little more lobbying your congressman might have prevented yet another survivalist nutjob from getting his hands on guns.

Well my bottom line is that if that's the way you feel you must surround yourself with nutjobs because the people I know are not "survivalists" and use their weapons for sporting purposes only and nothing more. Also 100% legal I must add.

You know what? You're right. In the 60s and 70s most high schools had gun clubs. Kids rode buses with rifles to compete, maybe we should bring those clubs back

I've hunted my entire life, and I've NEVER seen another hunter with an AR-15 or any other imitation military assault weapon. The nutjobs are too busy playing war games in their Army Surplus cammies and face paint hoping for the collapse of civilization.

I already stated to you earlier I dont know nor am I an apocalypse nutjob. I would not use a assault weapon for hunting that would be just plain stupid and illegal I might add. I'm talking about sport shooting ONLY at the range.

Clean as a whistle ? Usually just means never caught doing anything,. You'd be surprised the amount of people that's actually committed crimes, as petty as they might be or seem, yet enough to affect an arrest,

As for your mental state, mental records ? That makes me think about all them secret service agents last year that had clean as a whistle criminal and MENTAL records, guess sometimes it depends on the part of the head controlling the thinking. But as for you, just like everyone else, anyone at anytime can explode, and most always do, Record yourself 24/7 for a week, and see durning a stressful situation how your mental state fairs.

Congradulations on the clean Criminal Record, fortunate persons like yourself that's never been the result of what a corrupted police officer can do to a innocent citizen, and the aftermath.

I'm not on here to bash people. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions. I have been in some real stressful situations in my life and have always been able to keep a clear head. Unfortunately there are people who cannot. I just don't want my rights and the rights of other good guys taken away due to a few evil people. Got to go. Super bowl time. Hope everyone enjoys the game.
