Talking/Texting While Driving Might Become Illegal

There is indisputable evidence pointing to the dangers of texting while driving, but even so, the practice is common on the streets and highways of the United States.

Walking while texting should be illegal. Not a day goes by that some idiot is dawdling on the sidewalk or has 40 people que'ed up behind them on the subway stairway because they are texting.

but talking on cellphones and texting while driving is already illegal in NY and yet every third car has a moron behind the wheel with phone visibly glued to their ear.

I raise up from the driver's seat but keep both hands on the wheel and keep fully focused on the road.

Talking or texting can be a cause of accidents but it may be difficult to prove most of the time, and anyhow, most people would not do it if they see a cop first. I have seen cops driving with a phone in their ear. It could be possible to make phones inoperatable in cars, but then, what if a person really needs a phone for help? I think phones may help catch a lot of drunk drivers and actually helps law enforcement sometimes, but drivers do need to be more responsible using phones.

Saw an idiot last week reading a newspaper while at a stoplight. Forgot he was driving and held up traffic. Had to be a liberal because it was the NY Times.

Since freedom of choice in killing humans for convenience has been prolific, the decrease in Leftists and Liberals in America has also diminished. Thus, a correlation of inhumane, stupid people killing themselves is apparent. The same would be true with stupid Leftist, dope-head partiers not paying attention on roadways. Aside from issues of liberty constantly being abridged by Leftist control freaks (outlawing having goldfish, etc.), the pragmatic reality is that these freedoms (killing babies... texting while driving, etc.) result in fewer dope-head, Leftist freeloaders and mediocre thieves in society. The only real problem is the dope-heads surviving the crashes and being supported by the rest of us forever, while continuing to text by holding a pencil in their mouthes. It has been illegal in N.Y. for years now. N.Y. also passed a new law just a few months ago - caught talking or texting on your cell phone while driving, you get 2 points on your license, a $150.00 fine + a $75.00 surcharge.

Here's the real kicker - in 2006, N.Y. passed a law that states if you have any moving violations on your license, you MUST PAY $100.00 PER POINT FOR THREE YEARS! If you do not pay, your license is immediately suspended.

Total cost for texting or talking on your cell phone -$725.00.
